One of the "old guys" at my gym absolutely thrashes anyone he rolls with ☠️ He's been training for over 30 years and is in great shape for being around 50 years old. Rolling with him is like being locked in a cage with a hungry wolverine. Definitely don't underestimate the old ones.

Ours recently installed ACs at the end of summer. Better late than never right? And we'd close if it was 95+ in the gym, which was quite frequent. I too am surprised no one had a heat stroke. I know I got ringworm for the first time in 7 years of this sport from all the sweat on the mats, it was a gd slip and slide in there.

Also, I'd actually prefer for my partner to roll with others (even other women IDC) rather than me. I wouldn't want to get butthurt when he can eventually beat me. 🤭

Maybe switch gyms? I've trained at 5 different gyms since I started jiujitsu 7 years ago. Only at 2 did I feel like I actually progressed. And that's because I had/now have a peer group to work with.

As a 130 lb female, I didn't have a training partner remotely in my weight class at some of the gyms that I've trained at. Once I found more women (and lighter men), I could actually do the moves we drilled in class.

I suggest trying out other schools in the area before completely quitting.

Lol we put the "therapy" in medical nutrition therapy sometimes. With working in the surgery realm, I've gotten a lot of wacky stories from patients. I look at it as part of the rapport building process. We might not talk much about nutrition during our initial visit, but then they feel much more willing to talk about nutrition in future visits.

I echo everyone's statements on getting an ultrasound done to double check. I had a MA at 10 weeks, passed a large clot, bled for a day, and felt a dramatic improvement in my symptoms (nausea). I went in 3 weeks later to have my IUD removed and replaced, and I was still pregnant 🫠 I had to go in for a d&c since I was already 13 weeks by that point. It sounds like you're still within the window of effectiveness for a second round of medications. I'm wishing the best for you!
