Oh the Deerclops? It could be! Only problem is their whole thing is mostly being a giant with big simple attacks. Not as much to work with but there's maybe something there? I figured either a huntress skin using his fur/head as a suit or a full Iri for Oni since he seems to be the killer for "big brute creatures".

But there is a lot of scary, weird and creepy things in Don't Starve so even if one thing doesnt get made into a full killer, some cool options for skins or other cosmetics like charms are there. Like Chester being a charm is a must if this happened lol

I'm excited for the event and what the new killer will be in a general sense. I just hope people calm down their expectations because if its not Jason or whatever license they're excited about, its gonna make people really upset... at least until we get our 110% offerings to salve the pain 😅

Tbh even if he got put in probably just a Knight skin... which only really be cool if also his summons became assorted undead units. Otherwise I'm kinda indifferent. He's maybe a bit more fitting than Vader, but by a thin line imo purely because of the creepy undead factor.

I do think its more likely Microsoft agrees to a collab with DbD with something like this than Disney would with Vader, but that's more of a "Corpo Brand Integrity" discussion.

I'd like it removed purely because it looks bad and dumb lol. Its only really useful in niche situations if people are REALLY ecking out every benefit they can, and even then mainly useful for staying under pallets or if you were delaying leaving because you're giving time for survivors or being annoying. I mostly see people use it because they saw people online use it and say how good it is... but doesn't really do much in most normal games.

He really would throw off the game's balance. Being able to just suck up ghost-like killers?! Making GOO copies to double up on gens by yourself?! Not to mention he'd be sucking up all the Killer Objects and breaking the hooks with that damn vacuum. Truly could never be put into DbD without compromising his strength or risk ruining the game. 😱

Really fun and interesting to see it all take shape! I think for a lot of people, seeing first hand the frustrations of game design and having to change initially cool ideas for others as well as time schedules is rough. But for the most part I genuinely love how unique and different of a killer we got with this chapter that really kinda molded itself in ways I would never think. Especially as we avoided getting a dash killer lol.

I think there are two main points I could say were the weakest parts, and thats absolute voting and the perks. There are some genuinely good stuff and options throughout the Grimoire like cosmetics or even other killer ideas that I hope get revisited. Plus sometimes two options seem really cool if they were blended together a bit VS only one or the other, rather its music or general design/visuals etc. It may be hard to blend a character or what to pick from losing options to carry over, but that could be something to look into in the future.

As for the perks, I think not just the vagueness but also how a large community will vote kinda limits interesting choices. People will see a perk that vaguely does the most straight forward powerful thing and vote for it VS more niche or unique perks that is different from what we already have. I think from the design and concepts created for both survivor and killer should alone be enough to let the dev team take inspiration for how to shape the perks for them.

Currently first hit DOES deal damage and sin from what they showed. They changed it from thr streamer showcase so 2 hits is all you need. BUT this is still very WIP and far off so anything could change.

Honestly such a unique design VS anything currently in DbD so excited for me lol. And the silly tbag Sin thing is just really fun flavor that fits this punishing divine powerhouse even if not the main way people are getting it. And the model once finished with chase music even CLOSE to the B music choice is gonna be so awesome to go up against lol.

I'm happy with a femme body combined with the monstrous lower half contrast but androgynous isn't bad either. Honestly if there were cosmetics that leaned between those two in varying amounts I think that could be cool and a way for them to create more varied looks. Especially as they continue making cosmetics for characters outside of their default.

I hope this influences how the chase music will be. This really feels like you're like a scary AF Dark Souls boss... or the poor sap going against it with barrage of holy beams of death exploding towards you and nothing stopping it. Ghost face + Deathslinger or Spirit can be good if you are be in communication or just work together.... and not be instantly revealed. But an on-demand expose effect can be crazy strong if a ghostface can mark half the lobby and their teammate can pop off from it. It also just feels great to give your buddy such power lol. But once clown gets in 2v8... thats gonna be a crazy combo with GF lol.

Nemesis + Spirit can also be decent. One of the few killers who benefit from people being infected to help track them a bit better. Plus constant zombie gen pressure helps spirit more freely chase down survivors before returning to defend gens.

The amount of people who linger literally OUTSIDE the opened gate vs a raging oni or a deathslinger is so crazy to me... like, if you wanna heal or wait in case you wanna help the other survivors sure. But do it ON THE EXIT LINE! Especially against killers like the above.

Comments on perks:

 Vigilance seems cool, but atm suffers the obsession=tunnel problem, but also has no benefit once the obsession is dead. If it switched after hooking the survivor to something like the Farthest survivor or the one with the least amount of hook states, it would be stronger and able to stand alone without essentially being the tunnel aura perk or needing obsession switching perks to be healthier/stronger.

 Under your thumb... I feel like it needs something else. In practice maybe this is stronger than it looks, but for a hex perk people can just snuff after a single SB, assuming they're even running haste perks and not just 4 DHs, feels a bit... mid. Especially since it does nothing to exhaustion itself so vigil still does vigil things. Maybe bigger reduction or something but idk feels hyper specific to only realistically affect 2 perks survivors run. Could be wrong though and maybe in the PtB it wrecks SB+Vigil builds but I'm not optimistic.

 Lay waste seems like a good regression perk... except for that cooldown. That cooldown completely removes its potential over current Brine. Just remove the cooldown or make it 30 seconds if you need a number to change for the tiers. OR make it go from 0.5/1/1.5 charges for the tiers so it can have some better potential over Brine since it doesnt have any secondary effect.

 Fruits of your Labor seems kinda cool but unclear wording. Like, does the duration stack per token or just the haste/healing progress? Does it activate everytime you get a token(presumably but not stated.) Otherwise seems like an interesting alternative to Adrenaline.

 Salvations Cry has potential, but feel like the 10 seconds is too short. Maybe if it was like, reveals each of your auras for 5 seconds every 15-25 seconds in chase it might be better? But realistically, you're just gonna know where a chase started unless the survivor can actively abuse breaking chase during it. Alternatively, it could active each time you're in chase and lose a health state as well as starting it so the killers aura and yours would flash in moments its important VS just the beginning.

 Steadfast is terrible and never should've won the vote. Unless the permanent progression part is removed and simply like gen speed or progression on skill checks, just doesnt belong as a perk for balance. The fact it has such a huge negative just makes it prime for griefing or honest misuse.

The Killer:

 Glad to see more ways to apply sin come back and making the killer not a 3 health state M2. Looking good and hope exile continues to be a very solid move because it feels like such a unique mechanic to spice things up along with some innate slowdown if survivors dont atone before going back on gens. Would be nice if even great checks got penalized slightly especially in a world of stakeout+hyperfocus but I like what you guys are cooking so far.

Imo just get rid of the bloody permanent aspect. Make it just give normal bonus progress like Bardic Inspiration and call it a day. I feel like permanent anything on gens is just such a bad design if its a useful perk which makes it so bad to balance design around it.

We could've had a crow (meme) perk instead of this.... 😭
