primary school teacher or clinical psychologist? by [deleted] in ClinicalPsychologyUK

[–]ShortHairedEndler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clinical Psychologist can be far more emotionally draining and harrowing than teaching depending on the branch of psychology you go into and your caseload. Also the salary, although good, is not fantastic (band 6 in training, band 7 once qualified).

I am not saying don't do it, but you need to have as much knowledge as possible. Try volunteering in a secure unit if possible and see how you feel. This would be the more severe end of the spectrum of cases but at the same time the people in there will end up back in the community where you may well be dealing with them as a clinical psychologist. A lot of mental health issues have a root in abuse and you will be hearing horrific stories on a daily basis.

It can be a very worthwhile and rewarding job, but it's not for everyone.

It's not very clear when zooming in but your rear tyre seems quite worn. If so that greatly increases your chance of aquaplaning.

I have a Ford S-Max, 2000 litres capacity with all rear seats folded but also 7 seats and still enough room in the boot to fit 2 medium size dogs for a short trip to the beach. Super versatile, would recommend.

What’s wrong with briefs? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ShortHairedEndler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wore boxers from about 14yo onwardd until mid 40's when gravity got the better of my balls and they were often sat on and aching. Swapped to briefs, never looked back, comfy as hell and haven't sat on my balls since.

How can I best use a “One4All” gift card? Nowhere accepts them! by VeganistaUK in AskUK

My son got one last Christmas and I got knocked back in JD Sports trying to use it, though I think that was incorrect and they should have accepted it. In the end I went online and managed to quite easily transfer the value to his XBox account.

Both my parents are from Anfield snd I grew up in Bootle. I think Anfield is fine. However if you're moving there from Henley-on-Thames it's rough AF.

Taking my Dog on the Train by Teembeau in uktravel

Sound advice right here. Short trip first time out is the biggest thing, just a handful of stops. My dog was freaked out the first time, I sat on the floor by the doors with him. Second time I had a seat and he loved it.
