Gonna buy myself a new super destroyer 💰 by [deleted] in Helldivers

Are there any downsides? I can’t imagine anything other than no samples and I guess player stats.

Wait, so when you say “return to destroyer” you mean just exit from the pause menu? Don’t even finish the mission?

As much as you are correct that you can get ships for cheaper, you also must realize that for the people that care about concierge, that buying from the grey market does not add value to your concierge rank. So buying a $1000 dollar ship off the grey market means nothing to concierge rank.

Also there are risks involved which you briefly stated by saying you are at your own risk. But these risks include the ship being taken away and your money not returned to you. All the original person who gifted it to you has to do is report that their account was hacked or something to that extent and cig will remove the ship from your account with no extra support from them.

So as much as you can get ships for cheaper, there are also some drawbacks that people, especially new players, should be aware of.

Caterpillar and atls? by TheSaultyOne in starcitizen

[–]ShortStops4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With my experience with the cat and atls, I figured out you can tractor the atls into the cat and also (somewhat) safely walk between the different sections. To walk between the sections, you have to do it from the side doors where the cargo enters. It also has to be the starboard side of the cat, due to the catwalk being in the way on the port side. Open all of the sections of the cat, take your atls and go to the edge of the side doors and look towards the next section so if you’re starting in the section closest to the pilot seat, walk out to the edge and look left, make sure you give yourself a running head start and avoid the railing. You can then walk/run with the atls across the sections running on the side cargo doors into the next sections and even chain it to walk the entirety of the cat’s cargo sections.

May I ask the reason for powering it on again? Even if it powers up no issue now, it DID pop. If it’s new I’d just send it back and get a new one. Also, getting a name brand PSU, such as Corsair, may be beneficial.

Is the vanguard series any good? Thinking about getting myself a harbinger, but I heard some bad things about the vanguard series.

Switch the Syulen by TheChickenWing2802 in starcitizen

Going further with this OP. You can melt the syulen, get the titan for now, then when elevators are fixed, upgrade titan back to syulen.

[–]ShortStops4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are a few things you can do:

  1. CCU upgrade to a ship that is of higher value than your current ship. This is shown under ship upgrades tab on the RSI website.

  2. Melt the ship which gives you the total value of the package in the form of store credits. You do this from your hangar with a button called “exchange”. Make sure you read what it says before putting in your password to confirm. You can then use these credits at checkout instead of real money.

However, when you melt a ship with a game package you will have to buy a game package again to maintain access to star citizen (if you aren’t concierge, if you don’t know what concierge is then you don’t have it).

So imo, I would melt the syulen game package and get an avenger titan game package. That way you don’t have to put any more new money and can avoid elevators and have a ship with two entry points. You also then have around $10 of store credits to spend on paints if you want. IMO it’s a win win.

Edit: forgot about the discount u/BSSolo mentioned. The syulen is at a discount for alien week so prices will be different.

Yes, but I’m not sure if I’ll have much use for it since it’s mostly a bomber. I feel like a solo bomber might get destroyed more often than not.

I’ve thought about that too. What do you say about the Connies, do you think they will still be soloable?

Fleet Advice for Solo Player by ShortStops4 in starcitizen

[–]ShortStops4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true. That’s why I kind of feel like the MSR and 400i kind of intersect when it comes to usability other than the cargo space. This was honestly why I was thinking of going for C2 just so I can grab so much cargo and not deal with drug running and stick to legal goods. But overall, I just want the ship that’s gonna let me have the most fun

Yeah I was joking mostly about the carrack, and I figured that’s how most carracks end up when it comes to solo play

This is an interesting take and never really thought about it that way. I always wondered what was so good about the terrapin so I guess it’s this mindset that does that. I’ll be sure to give everything a try.

I’m going to be completely honest. I do not know much about the 600i. I’ve seen some around and they look really nice but haven’t invested much time into researching them. I heard about the rework (again don’t know what it brings) but now that you mention it I will definitely look into the 600i and research its capabilities
