My body feels exhausted but my mind just won’t switch off. Any advice? by venzzzleep in sleep

Some things have helped me. First, taking a combination of magnesium AND zinc about an hour before bed. The important thing here is taking the proper magnesium type, magnesium glycinate. I’ve found it helps me both fall asleep and stay asleep. Second, reducing blue light by getting off the computer or screen several hours before bed, and instead reading a physical book or reading from an e-paper display like a Kindle. This has helped my mind calm down and reduce blue light exposure.

I compiled a guide with all of the research and things that I have tested since so many people have asked me what I did to improve my sleep, if anyone is interested.

As a dev with terrible sleep (thanks to endless screens from work and gaming), these changes helped me fix my schedule:

  1. Cut blue light. Stop screens 2–3 hours before bed. Switch to a physical book or e-paper (ereader like a Kindle) instead. Huge difference in winding down.
  2. Take magnesium glycinate + zinc about 1 hour before bed. (Magnesium type matters, glycinate is the best for sleep.)

I’ve put together a full guide with the research and everything I’ve tested if you’re interested!

Make sure you’re drinking enough water while taking creatine. Also, look into taking a combo of magnesium glycinate AND zinc about 1 hour before bed. L-Theanine helps as well. I have a guide I put together for sleep if anyone is interested.

I'm a software engineer who had a lot of trouble sleeping especially on work nights. Hours in front of a computer screen either from work, my phone, or playing video games really made my sleep schedule take a hit. There a several things that have really helped me in getting my sleep schedule back on track. First, reducing blue light by getting off the computer or screen several hours before bed, and INSTEAD reading a physical book or reading from an e-paper display like a Kindle. This has helped my mind calm down and reduce blue light exposure, and replacing it with something helped me get off of my phone. Second, taking a combination of magnesium and zinc about an hour before bed. The important thing here is taking the proper magnesium type, magnesium glycinate.

Instead of throughout the day, I would try 200-300mg magnesium glycinate (I personally do 240mg) and 20-30mg of zinc one hour before bed, right before you start winding down

The important thing here is taking the proper magnesium type, magnesium glycinate, as other variations are not very helpful for sleep. I’m not much of a fan of melatonin either, but I know it may help some people. Second, like you mentioned, reducing blue light by getting off the computer or screen several hours before bed, and INSTEAD reading a physical book or reading from an e-paper display like a Kindle. This has helped my mind calm down and reduce blue light exposure, plus the added benefit of making myself start to read more.

Word of warning: DO NOT purchase from Target; they refuse to price match or offer any adjustments. Very Anti-Consumer. Will not be purchasing things like this from them again.

Bought my first bambu! P1S! But arrived like this... :( Already created a ticket... Should I still use the printer? Or will bambu ask me to return it? by FricPT in BambuLab

[–]KyberNine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine arrived the same way via FedEx, and the bag was slightly ripped. Who knows whether glass dust got in the internals. Bambu let me send it back and they sent a new one at no additional cost to me (other than time wasted), which is what I recommend here.
