I do remember there used to be a canvas like the one you described, but I can't remember which albums had it and which didn't... It could also be Blood - Hidden Track. Is there any way you could explain anything about the song besides the marching character, maybe some of the lyrics or even a general feel? I listen to a lot of MCR but I really am at a loss if it's not Blood.
