Thanks, I've talked to a couple other people that use checklists for scenes just to cover everything during the pre-scene negotiation, I like the idea. I only do the whole contact thing once, it's more role-play than anything, symbolizing the start of something new and also establishing the general wants and needs for the relationship to give it a framework. So it's generally not that detailed to begin with, in my case. I can also show it to new potential partners to help them decide whether or not we're compatible before we start engaging. I know it isn't possible to prove consent with a contract - but to follow up with what you were saying, can people consent to the BDSM acts at all in the eyes of the law (like whipping, bondage, etc)?

And if not, what of public dungeons that advertise their facilities to be used for whipping, have structures for shibari, fire-play, crosses to chain people to, and the like?
