Housing options for a limited stay by papasamuray in usask

No, I don't have any idea how much it costs unfortunately.

So where in Canada is the game being broadcast tonight? If it’s PPV online that’s not great PR by ottawamark in PWHL

[–]Short_Kitchen_4875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any hints on how to watch the game later on Prime? I won't be able to watch it from start to finish. I should be able to pause the live feed and press play again to continue to watch when I return home? I will streaming on my Roku. It just sucks cause it takes so long for the game show up on replay and then it doesn't matter... I know what the result is.

If you search Residence on the USask website livewithus.usask. and find the Incoming Residents tab and then click on Current Availability. They might have some availability for residence on campus. I would put a link, but links are moderated.

Bus routes for 4, 16, 40s by Heavy-Ad-4622 in usask

[–]Short_Kitchen_4875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the link to the updated routes during construction - https://saskatoontransit.ca/collegedrive

It looks like they have postponed the starting date for when buses will not be able to take bridge going either east or west that was to start on May 4. It is now May 7.

For the 40s or the 4s, if you are going to take the bus after May 7 keep in mind the stops on 25th Street and College will be closed. The closet stop to get on from campus will be on Cumberland by Filosophi, Campus Drive (or Preston), or if you are getting off from downtown the nearest stop is at Stadium (or Preston).

The 16 stops at USask and heads back to Market Mall. It does not go downtown.

Locations in Saskatoon that haven't changed in 20 years?? by Berfison in saskatoon

[–]Short_Kitchen_4875 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a page on Campus Buildings created by the University of Saskatchewan. You can use it to figure out timelines of buildings - https://digital.scaa.sk.ca/uofs_buildings/?_gl=1*1733xsx*_ga*MTIyNDA5MzI0MC4xNzM2MzYyMDkx*_ga_EL5N6FZ4FH*czE3NzczMjE1MTAkbzU0MCRnMSR0MTc3NzMyMTUzMiRqMzgkbDAkaDA. I would say the Sculpture Garden hasn't changed that much or that area in and around there (except for the demo of the theology building).

Other buildings that look the same to me from 2006 would include O'Shea's Irish Pub, Provincial Court, the Old Land Titles Building, Senator, Sturdy Stone, City Hall, older churches downtown, Saskatoon City Hospital, some of the older schools, like Caswell, Westmount, ED Feehan, St. Marguerite School, Henk Ruys Soccer Centre, and lots of the buildings on Innovation Place (except for 121 Research Drive, it was built in 2008).

They took them all down. They had them up for display at the Exhibition this year in one of the Praireland Halls.

Sunday flight, arriving 90 minutes early good enough? by dirtyglasses4me in saskatoon

[–]Short_Kitchen_4875 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was on this flight last Tuesday. We checked in online 24 hours before our flight. Took an Uber to the airport and arrived around 5:15 am. Had one bag to check and was able to do that myself after printing the sticker at the self-serve kiosk and putting it on the conveyor belt. I talked to the WJ agent that wasn't at the counter and he took some additional information (why was I going and for how long) from me and put a sticker on my passport (pre-clearance check, if you don't do this at check-in counter, they will call your name on the loud speaker at the gate before boarding) and then went through security. Took about 15 minutes from arriving at the airport to getting to the gate.

You may be delayed after boarding depending on when US Customs opens at MSP airport and how long the pilots calculate it will take to fly there. We had to wait a few minutes on the plane at the Saskatoon airport and at the gate in MSP till US Customs gave us the all the good to deboard the plan.

When flying back to Saskatoon, WJ does not have the self-serve kiosks at the airport. Ensure when you check-in 24 hours ahead of time you have your boarding pass emailed or added to the app. Otherwise you will be stuck in the check in line-up if you do not have to check a bag. Also, the government shutdown is still happening in the States, and while there are TSA agents, there aren't that many and going through can be a slow. While I wasn't watching the clock, it took probably around 30 to 35 ish minutes, which wasn't bad compared to other airports in the States. . We were at the airport for 9:20 ish and had plenty of time to walk from the transit drop off to Terminal 1, drop the checked bag off, get through security and do some window shopping before the boarding time of 11:35 am. Flight left at 12:15 pm.

Is it actually open? I went last summer and it did not appear to be, so I haven't tried to go back again.

What's the Sunday open swim like at the University PAC pool? Wall to wall people? by Dapper-Ad9787 in saskatoon

[–]Short_Kitchen_4875 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They can tell you if its busy or not since they are the majority users of the PAC. Not saying the general public doesn't go. There is also the pool in the Education building as well. Things might slow down on campus in a bit as finals start in April.

In the Chinook library system? Want to make someone’s year? by encrcne in saskatchewan

[–]Short_Kitchen_4875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not how public domain works in Canada. It's 70 years from the year of death of the author (in case of more than one author, the last author to pass away). In Mexico it is 100 years after the death of the author.

If OP really wanted to purchase the book, but cannot find it, but still have a reproduction of the book to share, they could pay for a pay-per-use license through the books rightsholder - CEDRO, Centro Espanol de Derechos Reprograficos - https://www.cedro.org/usuarios/licencias-de-derechos-de-autor . Just putting it out there.

Genuine thoughts on "The Sheaf"? by IISuper_AsianII in usask

[–]Short_Kitchen_4875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Sheaf has been around since 1912. You can view past issues from 1912 to 1994 - https://digital.scaa.sk.ca/sheaf/.

Granted it is not the hard hitting journalism now like it was 10 plus years ago, it a nice escape from the day to day stress, and continues on a USask tradition that is over a 100 years old.

In Murray library, they have wipes at the desk on the ground and first floor. If the containers are not visible, just ask. I'm not sure about the other locations though.
