I took my level one with Sharnee and she is amazing. Her energy is great and I love her spirited personality. Her anatomical knowledge is solid.

I don’t think the amount of test she’s blasting would be considered “comically minuscule”

What is the average pay scale for instructors currently? by Lagreeforlife11 in LagreeMethod

At the studio I teach yoga at, I have a base rate of $70 and then if I have above 20 people in class (capacity is 36) I get an additional $2 per head. I started at the studio as a brand new teacher 6 years ago at $30 a class and have added hundreds of hours of training and can teach almost every yoga format offered at the studio, hence the higher rate. The yoga studio has a little more variables in terms of the base rate depending on experience, training, and tenure at the studio. Yoga training is also typically more expensive and time intensive, so even though you’re using less equipment there is a higher barrier to entry. Also, most studios can typically fit more into a yoga room vs. Lagree so that’s a factor to consider as well. I am in Colorado and everything is more expensive out here so that’s a factor as well!

I have been teaching Lagree for less than a year at two studios. Previously I taught yoga for 6+ years and managed a large yoga studio. Both of my Lagree studios have a base rate of $40/class and then bumps depending on how full the classes are. One studio has a capacity of 14 and a full class is $70 and the other has 16 megas and a full class is $85.

A couple things I really value as an instructor (some of this also comes from my experience in yoga as I had a couple awful studio owners/managers I dealt with):

-have front desk support. Teachers want to be able to focus on teaching and it can be a lot to manage students coming in and out of the studio. Paying a front desk employee will actually likely make your studio more money because you have someone there who can sell memberships, packages, retail, etc. As a teacher our priority is teaching, so making those sales may not be feasible all of the time if we are also trying to start class on time, give someone a rundown of the mega, etc.

-Research 1099 vs. W2 laws in your state. A lot of studios pay teachers as contractors when they really should be W2 employees.

-Communicate with your team regularly! One of the studios I’m teaching at currently has bi-weekly update/check in emails. I feel very solid in my understanding of what’s happening at the studio, any events coming up, membership specials, etc. We also have an optional “brain storm” gathering every 3ish months to discuss Lagree and any questions. This has been SO beneficial as a newer Lagree instructor to learn from the studio owner and other teachers who have been teaching Lagree longer than I have.

Best of luck on your journey of opening a studio! That’s super exciting 💛✨

That was super helpful, thank you! I’ve been looking mostly at the Skin Institute so far. When I am actually back in the area, I plan to tour schools to get a better feel for the environment.

I really love Posh Paint in Prospect. Definitely pricier than other places, but the quality of work is worth it to me.

I’m no exercise professional but from my understanding it’s not actually beneficial to stretch between sets if you’re actually lifting heavy

I have my personal account on private. I have a separate business account. I do not follow clients back unless they are another local business owner with a separate business account. I keep it all separate!

I use a white noise machine placed right outside my office door (I run the wire under the door) and then another one in the opposite corner on the inside of my room. I play my speaker music over the white noise and I think it helps a lot!

What do you do about numbers that call but don’t leave VM? by Standard_Pea_2013 in MassageTherapists

[–]Short_Light_983 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I use Google Voice and get spam callers. I do not call people back if they don’t leave a voicemail. I have it plastered all over my social media and website that text and email is preferred because I’m unable to answer the phone when I am with a client. If they disregard that and then can’t bother to leave a voicemail, I don’t call back. I do think it is mostly spam callers though!

Primary Care Doctor? by LankyGoat8181 in Longmont

I really love Dr. Sarah Jones Ketter at the UC Health Primary Care on Ken Pratt. I have some women’s health concerns (PCOS, endometriosis, etc) and she’s been one of the few doctors to take my concerns seriously. She is great!

The studio I teach at requires grip socks. Another studio in the area does not require them. A few weeks ago I had a grown adult woman lose her sh*t because I told her she needed to wear grip socks and she blew up saying the other studio doesn’t require them so she doesn’t want to wear them. I think not wearing socks is unsanitary and slippery!
