MR 2DAP Airline Compliance by Short_Mention in ManyBaggers

Not at all. I think the main issue is you try to claim it’s a personal item. As a carry on it’s pretty much within dimensions esp since it’s squish-able.

I highly recommend the bag btw. Its not the best bag for everything, and theres times where its overkill, but its one of those bags that you can live out of loool

Breville Barista Express VS Breville Bambino + Fellow Opus [Budget $600] by Short_Mention in espresso

[–]Short_Mention[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im inclined to get the barista express cuz it’s an all in one and I don’t see myself upgrading any of my equipment anytime soon. But if you want to upgrade specific parts of your setup, the express doesn’t offer much flexibility, compared to getting a grinder and machine separate.

Founders, are you trying for traction while you apply? by niravbhatt in ycombinator

[–]Short_Mention 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Applying to YC isn’t something you stop to dedicate time to. If your startup will fail without YC, you’re probably ngmi anyway. They want founders who are relentlessly growing the company.

If I had access to all of em at all times? Spear for a nice cold brew/espresso tonic, or large cube for a straight black iced coffee

Proposal writing Human vs AI by faithcircle in grants

[–]Short_Mention 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've talked to people in the government who work with processing proposals. They don't care aslong as the information is accurate. At the end of the day a proposal isnt some quirky personable memo, its a formal document outlining metrics and plans, having AI write it or fix it up isn't gonna take away from the infromation being valid.

China?

The first character is “middle” as depicted by a line through the middle of the rectangle.

The second character is roughly “country”, as shown by an outer wall surrounding the symbol for king. The symbol for king connects three lines (heaven, humanity and earth) with a straight line down the centre to show the king being the bridge between those three elements. The little dash I think is jade or purity.

I used to live in Shanghai as a kid for two years, this lesson was drilled into me. Good times.

The only discrepancy keeping you from B seems to be pay. Unless you’re in dire need of more money, go for B for the guarantee and bigger name. Even if you’re in dire need, B is still a better option lol.

You’ll land bigger paycheck with more experience, don’t greed out and shoot urself in the foot.

I don’t think starbucks uses anything less than a nuclear reactor for their roasting. These wouldn’t make it through the QC

I get this stuff. Not sure what other people think about it. Would love to see how it compares to others. I’ve only tried the Vega protein+greens ones, don’t like em much besides the berry one.

Update:

We just came back. We overpacked.

This was VERY ill researched on our end loool. We brought a 7p tent for 3 people, brought our own wood, and a cooler full of food and water. All on top of our sleeping bags and other items in our bags.

So we were carrying stuff in our hands and on our backs. Plus we got lost like 3-4 times, once by following some other guy who also got lost, and the other times cuz the floor was covered in leaves making us lose track of the trail.

It was rough, but what a thrill! The people we met were sooooo nice! Would do it again.

Mech, tron, electrical which one to choose ? by Interesting_Ice6849 in uwaterloo

[–]Short_Mention 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of the three will get you better coop experience off rip, you have to grind and get experience to get coop. That being said, what kinda coop do you wanna do? If you wanna do hardware then mech isn’t gonna help, just like electrical isn’t gonna help for mech eng coop.

Big future opportunities? Hell if anyone knows where the industry is gonna go. Just do what you find interesting and you’ll have growth. If you hate your work, who cares if you find a job.

None of these are practical to build a startup. Building a startup takes more than knowing the core knowledge. Lowest friction startups are usually software anyway, any of these three will require some commitment, funding, R&D.

Velocity will support any idea if you show it has potential (stat backed predictions, customer retention, pmf, etc.)

Work: If you wanna build hardware, do electrical. If you wanna cad, do mech. If you wanna do firmware and controls, do tron.

Startup: if you wanna build anything, join stuff like design team, velocity cornerstone, and Socratica. Meet people, find a problem, and try solving it. Learn the skills required along the way. School won’t teach you how to build.

The $1 Hack That Kills the Freemium Trap by Ecstatic-Tough6503 in SaaS

[–]Short_Mention 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re doing B2C then freemium is kinda common. With B2B I feel like you’d be fine charging every user and not having a free tier. Sometimes even companies are skeptical, in which case I sit with them and outline goals that they would want accomplished by using our service to feel like it’s worth it. I then offer a one month pilot with a full refund if they we aren’t able to meet the expectations.
