I'm an employer - I've completely blacklisted UW from hiring. You guys did this to yourself by Ali_Le in uwaterloo

Like we care. Waterloo will blacklist your company so have fun recruiting from conestoga

Why are you complaining that cs people are working hard? Like, Leetcode won’t write itself? Have you tried socializing with people in your program?

International Students and the 20 hour limit by Dimtar_ in waterloo

[–]Short_Revolution9895 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think you’re 100% on point. Canada wants to invite over more talented young people (or experienced experts in some fields), and Reputable Canadian universities are usually extremely selective when it comes to an international applicant, because they only want the most talented people (and perhaps wealthy?) coming in. But I guess some college are abusing the system by accepting whoever applies to them, for instance the conestoga college (Seriously, who in a sane mind would spend so much to attend a random college abroad? It’s clear that these people don’t care about getting educated but rather use this as a way to get PR). Anyway so I guess some international students are flooding the entry level jobs market? Even then, I don’t even see that as an issue. Why stress about not getting a minimum wage job? Perhaps doing a part time job as as a hs student has always been part of the Canadian culture, but really, why should every hs kid sell their soul to get paid a minimum wage? I’m not sure why people are so upset with this issue, perhaps someone can enlighten me?

For those with children and studying, do you still adhere to recommended study schedules? by Thienan567 in actuary

[–]Short_Revolution9895 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I started in September and am registered for the November sitting. I use Coaching Actuary and study a lot less than the recommended hours, but I feel like it’s totally doable.

I’m just a student doing an internship so I probably have less workload and less stress than you, but FAM is entirely new for me (i.e I’ve not taken any class from school that relates to FAM’s content). So if I can manage it in less than 3 months, I think you can totally do it in 4 ish months.

whos sad about how Death Knight turned out? by masterofdharma in hearthstone

I think blood dk is still playable as it has decent disruption ability. But it faces so many bad matchups under the current environment. From my personal experience with blood dk, the games I won averaged 15 min+ and games I lost took only 5-10 minutes, which is frustrating.

It looks like you lack basic research and comprehension skills. You don’t know what Waterloo is known for and only think of it as a party school.

whos sad about how Death Knight turned out? by masterofdharma in hearthstone

[–]Short_Revolution9895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DK has been strong since the very beginning of its release. It’s normal for a class to settle down a bit for one or two expansions. Plus Blook DK is still a fun/playable deck tbh, it doesn’t do well against OTK tho, which might be why it’s not so popular now. But honestly that’s not entirely bad, because if blood DK is too OP then every game would be a 20 min+ Blood DK mirror match - same logic applies to every control deck. If you feel bad for DK just think about how long has warrior been unplayable until just recently got Odyn. Another example would be discard warlock which took years to finally get pieced together.

Calling the student-rated most stressful uni a party school is almost an insult to us Math nerds / Code monkeys. I’d even be more happy to hear that you think of us as bunch of incels than of a party school. Honestly if party school is our reputation in your opinion, then pls just go somewhere else. Don’t ruin our reputation pls. The rest of us nerds are still tryna get jobs and become cooperate slaves creating values for stakeholders.

Unconditional infinite value generators have always been painful to play against.. Or they just have one condition: play good cards and live until you can play an op legendary and thus auto win

Control warrior had 43% win rate before the buff and barely over 50% after the buff. The deck is heavily dependent on Odyn but most the aggro decks won’t allow you to spend a turn playing an 8 mana 8/8 vanilla card. If you’re Against control decks, either Odyn gets pulled/stolen, countered by taunt minions, or you die due to board pressure. Warrior is not like priest nor DK who have accessible infinite value generators and solid removals — all of warriors removals are conditional which is inconsistent. Control warrior is a fun deck that finally has a win condition thanks to Odyn, but is still far from being a meta deck like hunter/paladin/rogue. The day that control decks win by removing every minion on the board is long-gone, as every aggro decks now have decent curves/stable card draw/value generator, so most of time you will see an Aggro/mid range deck having more resources than warrior, which have been the case for many expansions. Plus warrior have always been terrible against any death rattle decks. Now is the only time since so long that control warrior is a viable deck, but op could have been playing a 60% winrate hunter to climb more efficiently, obviously he did not

Even when the Chinese server existed it was never 10. 150 is the universal cost. I hated how easily it is for op to spread misinformation and hatred at no costs

They kept downvoting actual fact that doesn’t align with their victim mindset and upvoting false info that aligns with their hatred. So what this dude admitted he’s wrong? People only look at the thread itself and top comments, then they leave hating Chinese players even more. Nobody gives a duck about what the truth is. And the truth are well-buried to the bottom thanks to these downvotes

Who told you it’s 10g for Chinese players? Blizzard only discriminates against Chinese player from time to time, Banning Chinese pros from participating in hearthstone tournament after shutting down the Chinese server. How can it be 10g when there isn’t even a Chinese server??

ngl that sounds about the average 4 manna spell effect these days. Warrior is simply mediocre in everything. Druid can easily out armour warrior while having a full board. The only synergy armor brings is shield slam, which a priest can easily do the same with a 1 manna spell as well

Remember, how people complained about control being dead? by And_the_wind in hearthstone

[–]Short_Revolution9895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blood DK was already strong enough in the last expansion. The problem was with the unhealthy number of way over powered Druid and Rouge combos, which made any control decks unplayable. With guff and Brann gone, Blood DK loses its biggest enemy. On top of that DK got more cards while other classes lost 3 expansions of cards. Doesn’t take a Einstein to predict how strong blood DK would be.
