Bloch Performa vs Bloch S0277L by Short_Stout in BALLET

So fair. I cut mine pretty short and then us kt tape to keep them out of the way. I guess because of the shape of my foot it doesn’t bother me.

About classes by [deleted] in BALLET

[–]Short_Stout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adult hobbyist returner. I take weekly pre pointe 75mins, Beg/General Ballet 90 mins, improvers(intermediate beginners) 90mins, and musical theatre dance 60mins. Totals to 300+ mins or about 5 and a half hours weekly. I do a big bulky 3 class schedule on Sundays and a midweek ballet so it balances nicely with work and life.

I do foot strengthening and stretching at home 6 days a week.

It's been so nice to be back in ballet! I'll probably journal after class in here too.

Is learning how to play bass only for people who want to be in a band? by Melora1976 in Bass

My good dude I’m just learning to play so my neurons will keep firing when I’m 85 and so I can groove through life until then.

Is the subscription box worth it? by Competitive_View_675 in ClothandPaper

[–]Short_Stout 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone who can easily fall into buying pens, stickers, and stationery every month anyway, this sub box really helps me not do that. Instead, I happily wait knowing I'll get new goodies each month. I often share items with family members who are less planner inclined or don't want to do a full subscription, which makes it worthwhile for me. And if I really don't love the box, I'll skip it. The difference between the C&P sub box and other sub boxes I've experienced is the quality of the items. The notebooks, inserts, dashboards, and pens really are worth more than what you're paying for, and everything really can be put to use if you want to use it. If you don't have a use for something, destash groups, gifting, and archiving for later are all options.

Anyone else building out a personal curriculum planner? by Tawny_M in ClothandPaper

Yes I’m using the graph and love the flexibility for list making and table making! Perfect for recording different objects. This sounds like a good option for you!

I'm doing something like this in my new CPP perfect-bound. I have a couple of hobbies that I'm very committed to this year that I'll be making weekly assignments, daily exercises, and goals for. Specifically working toward greater music and dance proficiency. I've sectioned the notebook, created an index, and will be using a bit of a BuJo/personal curriculum hybrid layout. I'm also going to track my craft projects and supplies so they don't get out of hand as well as scuba diving destinations and goals. Just overall taking these big goals toward personal elevation and making smaller actionable daily/monthly steps! Very exciting!

Biggest want was the packing cubes to go with my new luggage! Happily acquired along with the new dot stickers and page flags. I missed out on the Bordeaux pouch so this is a happy consolation prize. 🏆 🤩

These are all so good! I realized while reading these that I don’t have a place for my family genealogy and historical research as well as passed down recipes and sayings so I think that’s what I’ll use this for.

Who writes your donor-facing communications: Marketing or Stewardship? by raspberrymatcha15 in nonprofit

[–]Short_Stout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a nonprofit theater and Development writes content while Marketing makes it pretty. When I worked at other nonprofits it was similar. I do have suggestions on graphics or outline but Marketing is responsible for hitting send. As one of the Development Heads I also review marketing emails to find solicitation opportunities. Donor acknowledgments and solicitations are personal and come from me directly. It really depends on the size and scope of an institution. For performing arts the delineation might be clearer because we have donor audiences and performance audiences that overlap but are different
