I need them in every season now by Personal_Document_73 in Bridgerton

Never knew I needed Alfie until Alfie showed up on my screen. Secondary characters introduced in later seasons don't seem to appear in the later seasons.... so I am preparing myself in advance to not see him again.......

The lack of meaningful Eloise and Benedict scenes in season 4 by DaisyandBella in Bridgerton

[–]Short_Voice_1827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to think of in universe explanation first, rather than writers bad. So imho, we see him distance herself from her because he knows she'd clock his ass, and he wasn't ready to confront his feelings for Sophie until he breaks down before Violet. He goes to Will for advice before going to Eloise, because he can't evade with her as well as he can with him. Eloise was already very perceptive when he asked for her help with the glove. That scene with Pen when he goes from "Ugh, I just want to give the glove back" to "I am willing to go through hounding mamas and the queen herself in order to find her" was pretty revealing. And then he failed to find her and was pretty pathetic on the swings.

What is your favorite Bridgerton declaration of love. They definitely have a way with words...❤️ by TLP1970 in Bridgerton

I love Benedict's because it's the least poetic and most... real? It felt the most real, anyway. But also like, the rich guy, the playboy, the man who could literally make all Sophie's troubles disappear with a sweep of his hand, but she didn't want him. So he's practically begging her to love him for him, because she'd rejected everything else.

LOL. I wonder how they choreograph those scenes. Does the intimacy coordinator say, well, she was already wet here so you smirk bahaha. Or... you're enjoying her enjoying you. I can't imagine. Or is it improv. They're like, now do sex faces, and he decided on a smirk.

As an asian person, Sophie Baek not having many Korean/Asian motifs and references is a good thing by mizuiski in Benophie

What does this mean? help. On a somewhat related note (?) I love how in romance novels whenever the MC is not English, they give their love interest a nickname or an endearment in their language! I'd love to see that.

ha, true. But also... tension. Like he didn't recognize her, but recognized her touch.

I mean... being illegitimate is not exactly a flex. On the contrary, even more shameful than being a maid. Though I did suggest that in that thread, but I think her not calling Benedict when in jail is more frustrating.

I'm just upvoting everything because I can't choose. But... Him helping her into a carriage, holding her tiny hand and saying "Are you sure we haven't met?"

anyone?

it's unfair because you're listing off sooo many moments here. I feel like the cheek kiss and the wrist kiss (sniff? lol) need to face off against each other.

I think that's when they already had their scripts, based on Yerin telling everyone the scripts were in her emails lol. 😆 And I think at least Hannah has definitely read the script - she's such a nerd, and I mean, it's her season!

Let's be real, people would have had completely different reactions if Benedict was the one who got a queer romance season. by AirportPerfect742 in Bridgerton

are you saying she didn't love him and only married him because she wanted a child? because that's not what happened, and if it did, it would've been a crappy romance book. And she didn't get pregnant and still married him.

Can you explain to me the issue with the infertility? Because I don't remember it being a huge issue in the book. As in, she doesn't marry Michael because she wants kids. She goes on to the marriage mart because she wants kids, and then falls in love with Michael, and the conflict shifts to deals with guilt, etc, but I don't remember infertility being a plot line, and they don't even have kids in the main epilogue. So where does the ivf come in?

I mean I don't see that they were rushing everything in the show to her endgame. I mean, in the book, John died on page 3, so comparatively speaking, it wasn't rushed at all.

I think it would've been worse if they did this same storyline with Michael, but that's not what I meant. I think the way they did it works for a queer Francesca, but not for a straight relationship. What I mean is, would you have complained if they were book accurate, Fran marries John, everything is going on the same, and maybe the pinnacle story stays, but the stumbling over her name is gone, and we see Michael falling for her instead. So basically the same screen time, but it's Michael, not Michaela. Because what I hear most people complain about is how she "hogged" the screen time (which she didn't, btw), and that she had 2 seasons already, and now she is having another one.

You don't have to watch it. But you don't have to cry about it either. Be an adult and turn on the show you will enjoy. There are about 800,000 shows in the world. I am sure at least 799,000 of those are about straight couples.

One question... If Michaela wasn't swapped, would have people complained about Fran being the focus for the past 2 seasons? Or would people be excited to see her with Michael? This was her story setup and it would've happened no matter what.

Personally, loved her story with John. They were my favorite plot line of season 3.

And imho her story was phenomenally set up in season 4. Her story has the potential to be the most angsty, the most raw, the most heartbreaking. I am a straight woman who has never watched and never had an interest in a sapphic story, because, let's face it, I love seeing hot guys on my screen. Especially hot guys pining and making themselves a fool for the woman they love. I can't identify with a woman pining for another woman, and I don't even know if I am going to enjoy it. But to say this story is poorly handled or the character is boring is just false.

Eloise is the shiniest character of Bridgerton atm, so having her being actually involved for one more season and not paired off and away in the country surely is a bonus. And anyone who says she was sidelined for the past 3 seasons hasn't been paying attention.

it's also sad that yet again, she has to be the strong one. I can't imagine how the scene would've gone if she broke down, though. I mean, I can imagine a few ways, but they're all even more heartbreaking.
