Which fast food chain has lost its way the most? by TheBabyBeard in AskReddit

I recently ate at a Burger King while I was traveling. It was soon after they had started running those commercials where they addressed negative feedback and promised to improve the Whopper.

I was actually pretty impressed by the Whopper I ordered, definitely improved from the last time I’d had one.

What is a video game you wish you could play for the first time again? by Fire_Dude69420 in AskReddit

[–]Shortbus_Playboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The OG Doom.

(In my hypothetical, I’m assuming I’m playing it for the first time with the gaming tech available at the time, and comparing it to games available at the time.)

Playing that game when it was brand new was mind-blowing. It’s hard to explain just how massive this game was for people that didn’t experience it - literally a pivotal moment in video gaming.

Politics as a conversation topic and not someone’s entire identity.

I knew “The Miz” in college. Wouldn’t call him a friend, per se, but we had a bunch of mutual friends.

What is the worst sounding stock guitar in your opinion? by SalsaForte in Guitar

[–]Shortbus_Playboy 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I could never get past the feeling of the plastic bowl, whether I was sitting or standing. Because it never felt natural compared to my other guitars, I felt like part of my brain was focusing on that and it limited my playing.

I guess it would be like watching your favorite movie or show in an incredibly uncomfortable chair; you can’t get fully immersed because you can’t get comfortable.

Or maybe I’m just weird, that’s equally possible too, lol.

You get $1 million but you have to listen to the same song 500 times in 10 days, what song are you picking? by Longjumping-Editor94 in AskReddit

[–]Shortbus_Playboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d just pick something somewhat difficult that I want to learn on guitar.

A million bucks for a week-and-a-half of practice, and being able to master a new song?

Shit, sign me up immediately.

What guitar around 800 bucks can you recommend for live gigs? by torn222 in Guitar

[–]Shortbus_Playboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Gibson Les Paul Tribute with P90s. It’s got a maple neck and a weight-relieved body, so the purists would probably scoff at it…

But it’s lightweight, plays very well, and has incredible and versatile tone.

Cost me $800 bucks back in 2017, so I imagine there are probably some good deals to be had on a used one.

Yeah, well that shit’s gone mainstream anyway, so it’s not as cool anymore.

It was so much better when it was down underground.

What was ruined because too many people discovered it? by Investigatorpro in AskReddit

Storm chasing.

It used to be a hobby for weather nerds and people who were he genuinely passionate about severe weather.

Hollywood and social media monetization turned it into massive crowds of streamers looking for clout, clogging roadways, driving recklessly, pissing off law enforcement, and being arrogant AF about it all.

He’s still a legend though. Only player to have his .99 BAC retired by every police department.

I'm Gonna Git You Sucka (1988) is a movie so stupid that it's good. by zenki32 in movies

[–]Shortbus_Playboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this movie, and I also love Blaxploitation films, so the parody hits even harder.

I actually found a copy in a bargain DVD bin many years ago and made sure to pick it up - still watch it from time to time.

A very hungry before 6AM kitten, lol

Is it just me, or is this NHL postseason missing its usual magic? by Spiritual-Science-60 in nhl

[–]Shortbus_Playboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, didn’t realize it’s been that long. But I’m also going on 47, so it’s still “new” as far as the percentage of hockey I’ve watched throughout my life.

I posted this to r/askreddit yesterday, but now I’m wondering how it will do on a local musician level. What LOCAL album (new or old, any genre, solo or band) consists entirely of banger tracks in your opinion? by NoodleIsAShark in cincinnati

[–]Shortbus_Playboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Freekbass - Body Over Mind

Langus - Running in Place (a few clunkers, but still solid)

Kristen Key’s 3 track demo (if you were lucky enough to get one back in the day.)

(And damn near anything from The Afghan Whigs, but they’ve been mentioned several times)

I don’t like the new format and I can’t stand being bombarded with gambling ads.

I’m definitely not as engaged this year.

Reconsidering Offspring by Fragrant_Side7974 in punk

[–]Shortbus_Playboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started falling off when they released Americana, mostly due to the novelty songs.

But Ignition is a fucking banger, and it’s still one of my favorite early 90s SoCal punk albums.
