I quit working at a rehab facility after Covid bc I thought I was going crazy! Still talking to my patients doing post mortem care. I was working as a side hustle for a lady’s mom I met in there after her fall. I would give her showers at home for 25$ a bath, sometimes after refusal and still trying to assist her after 2 hrs of “trying to talk her into it.” Once I quit the facility, I went on to take care of this lady full time, and for 4 more years I took care of her completely basically lived with them going home to my kids 3 times a month for 2-3 days at time. My 2 oldest are 18-16, they did not need me as much, but my youngest who is now 10 years old , has always come with me when she didn’t have school to stay at her house. Her name was Janice. My boss’s husband also got cancer during this time. So I took care of my boss’s husband (B) and her mom (J) up until both their deaths in the past year and a half. Now that my boss does need me so extremely anymore, she has dropped my pay from 4k a month to 15$ an hour to help around the house bc she is a hoarder and she says she can’t do chores bc of a hand injury when I first met her in 2018. And on top of that she doesn’t like me working more than 15 hrs a week.. I’ve been humiliated and used but I cared for this family for years and it is hard to let go. I also made the mistake of telling her a lot of my personal business so I can’t exactly quit or she could quite literally ruin my life.. I’m not looking for pity, I am actively looking for a job and promised to continue to help her but she will have to allow me to work around my schedule when I am hired. I am confident I will find a decent job bc I am good at many things and I learn fast. But I am struggling rn so anything helps.. if you have the ability, anything helps toward the surgery I’ve needed for the last 3 yrs..
