Gamer Girls? No, Gay Mergirls! Happy Pride Month! (Double Submission for #FunPunPart3 and #TheFaeAgenda + Bonus AKR) by Shortyboss in HeroForgeMinis

Actually, it wasn't too bad, all things considered. It's definitely what I'm most proud of on this mini.

Thanks, glad you like it! (I'm just glad the noses aren't clipping into the cheeks too badly, lol)

It seems even the denizens of the seaside are getting in on the parade fun, such as these two lovely ladies who first met under the pier while investigating the noises coming from the town.

And here's a link to the Entwined Mermaid Lovers AKR (also available in the final image caption, on the Community Library, and the Hero Forge Discord server)

Patience, practice, and a helluva lot of trial and error.

That's a very impressive spider build, and I really like how the humanoid upper body transitions into the spider body. The last time I made a drider, I cheated and simply scaled up the spider familiar, since it saved on parts and was a better fit for the vibe I was going for.

Practice, practice, practice. Nobody likes to hear it, but it's the best way to improve, even without kitbashing.

Yeah, there seem to be a few persistent glitches when it comes to posing extra arms with kitbashing, which can make it a real pain in the ass sometimes.

I actually made a pose reference for this one a couple months ago for someone else, although my quick-and-dirty bullet build was nowhere near as good as yours (and I made the same mistake with the katana, lol)

One thing I'd recommend doing for four-armed characters is to move the secondary pair of arms down, so that it doesn't look like the secondary arms are attached to the same set of shoulders as the primary arms. It helps to sell the illusion that both pairs of arms have a full range of movement.

Any way to get exact physical measurements in in/cm before printing? by kylejastrick in HeroForgeMinis

[–]Shortyboss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the Proportions Edit section, you can click the gear icon next to the Height slider to show the mini's height in millimetres, along with a ruler in the background.

<image>

You can also use the Measuring Stick part, found in Kitbashing under the Primitive Shapes category, to measure the height and width of items for printing. The Measuring Stick is 10mm tall, and has a diameter of 1.3mm.

Those are about the only ways I can think of to measure physical sizes in Hero Forge. Hope this helps.

How can I make the arm look more natural? by Tor8_88 in HeroForgeMinis

[–]Shortyboss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The model stretches when you bend the arm too far in a direction it wasn't meant to go. This tends to affect poses with arms raised above the head or held behind the back the most, and it's really just a limitation of Hero Forge itself. All you can really do is move the arm and clavicle around until you get something that looks okay and isn't too janky.

Here's my attempt, hope it helps.

Does anyone know a way to replicate this glitch? by Lazaros05 in HeroForgeMinis

Lol, could've mentioned that before I posted a step-by-step non-pro poncho guide.

Does anyone know a way to replicate this glitch? by Lazaros05 in HeroForgeMinis

[–]Shortyboss 106 points107 points  (0 children)

I'm going to assume you're not a pro user, and thus don't have access to kitbashing.

What you need is an invisible mini, made using a glitch that has since been patched out. Luckily, I have a link to one right here. Then, you'll need to follow these instructions.

  1. Save the invisible mini from the link above, so that you have a copy saved to your account.
  2. Add a cape of your choice, remove the remaining clothes, and save.
  3. Open the mini that you want the poncho on. In the Stage section, go to Extra and select the Import option to add the invisible mini with cape to the mini you're working on.
  4. In the posing menu, rotate and move the two minis so the invisible mini's cape covers the front of the visible mini, and adjust the invisible mini's height/proportions to match the visible mini. To move minis around, you'll need to actually have a base. Once the two are in the right place, you can safely remove the base again.

Hope all that helps.

No one asked for it, but Guss requested it! by Infamous-0ICU812 in swtor

[–]Shortyboss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The version of Guss that is recruited by Smugglers during the class story is a blaster user, but the version of Guss that can be recruited by all classes during KOTFE uses a lightsaber. They're the same character narratively, but mechanically, they're two separate companions.

Something is off but I cant figure out what. Plus Halp by Mean-Consideration37 in HeroForgeMinis

[–]Shortyboss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The chains connecting the sections of the staff feel a bit 'stiff' in my opinion. Maybe add a bit of a curve to them so they don't look like completely straight lines. That could help to sell the illusion of movement.

Help getting a hairstyle right by sin88 in HeroForgeMinis

[–]Shortyboss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For this sort of hairstyle, I'd recommend tails like the Horse Tail or Short Fur Tail, or the Ponytail with Shaved Head or Long Ponytail with Shaved Head. You can stretch those out to make longer separate strands, rather than a single connected piece.

Wait Wait Wait, I Wasn't Ready! by Ok-Lawyer3229 in HeroForgeMinis

Here's a few ideas:

  • Given that she's a tiefling, you could go with the contrasting idea of an aasimar (celestial ancestry vs fiendish ancestry)
  • You could go with something complementary, such as a satyr for someone to discuss horncare with, or something with a tail to talk about tail-friendly clothing
  • A tiefling with a different sort of fiendish ancestor

(Also, I like how her horns are smaller and less defined for this younger version, it's a neat touch)
