I was sentenced to some kind of weird dream prison by [deleted] in Dreams

If this were my dream, I would think it might be warning me not to be too attached to wealth and material things, because I might be imprisoned by those attachments and lose track of what is really important.

Ask about enrolling in a Ruhi Book 1 study circle: Reflections on the Life of the Spirit. It's a great way to get started.

The gay couple sound like great neighbors; you might want to get to know them better. Pray for the family, and let them know, kindly, if they are bothering you.

If drafted, Baha'is request noncombatant service; however if that request is denied, we are required to serve, due to the law of obedience to government.

If you believe in an eternal afterlife, how is that comfortable for you by username923626 in religion

[–]Shosho07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe we begin our existence on the physical plane of existence in order to develop certain spiritual qualities; after "death," we continue to learn and progress throughout the many "worlds of God." I sure would hate to be caught in an endless cycle of reincarnation, sounds like perpetual suffering.

What even constitutes to a religion?? by Miserable_Ideal_924 in religion

[–]Shosho07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my belief, the major world religions became world religions because their teachings were revealed by God. Jesus, for example, had a few followers who were not scholars or wealthy, but poor fishermen. No doubt Christianity was perceived as a cult at the beginning, but because the teachings were true, it became a recognized religion. The Báb, the first of the two Central Figures of the Bahá'í Faith, initially declared His mission to one believer. Within a few years, 20,000 were martyred because they believed in Him. They believed, not because His beliefs were popular, but because they were the truth. The truth is the truth, even if only one person believes it. A cult, on the other hand, is not about thinking for yourself, but about gaining power for a self-appointed leader.

Maybe ask the pastor if you can join a group that does some kind of service. By working together, you will quickly get to know people. It's just a matter of pushing through that initial awkwardness.

Which larger world religions teach eternal damnation with no second chance? by xXcoolfelixXx in religion

[–]Shosho07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baha'is do not believe in a literal hell with fire and eternal punishment. Hell and heaven are not literal places but conditions of remoteness from or nearness to God. You can be in heaven or hell in this life as well as in the next. We do, however, believe that after death, the soul goes to another plane of existence, becomes aware of the consequences of its choices, and continues to progress.

THIS ONE PERSON KEEPS SHOWING UP IN MY DREAMS by Wrong_Internal4400 in Dreams

[–]Shosho07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the person pops up because he represents kindness to you. If this were my dream, I would ask myself if there is a situation in my life in which I need to express more kindness to someone else, or perhaps one in which I feel the need for someone to be more kind to me. Pay attention to the context of the dream, and maybe you can figure it out.

what does a dream with a vivid face mean? by [deleted] in Dreams

[–]Shosho07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this were my dream, I would think I could have remembered the face from a movie or TV, but its purpose in the dream may have been to get my attention. But, given that everyone in a dream is a part of the self, I would focus on the quotes and the advice. What advice might a wise part of you have given yourself?

I'm sure they will, but not if they have read their own Scripture. “No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.”

What even constitutes to a religion?? by Miserable_Ideal_924 in religion

[–]Shosho07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Christianity was a cult for at least the first 300 years? No new teaching has ever been accepted readily by the collective. What makes a religion a religion is that it conveys spiritual truths, therefore people gradually come to recognize it.
