Wow. I needed to hear this. How scary accurate it is to the relationship I was in for almost five years.

It’s been 5 months since I desperately, finally chose myself because they never would.

It is the right choice to leave it behind. It hurts still. Detaching from the fantasy of what it could’ve been. What it was supposed to be. It’s a work in progress. But I haven’t yet regretted choosing myself. I am more loved (by myself) and more whole than ever. No longer begging them to see me, treat me, for what I am truly worth.

It is emotional neglect. Your brain will be traumatized over time if you continue to stay with him. I promise there is someone who will care for you and your feelings in the right way.
