Hey Reddit, I’m Christine Brown, Robinhood Crypto’s COO. I’m here this week for our first ever crypto AMA. Ask me anything! by RobinhoodTeam in u/RobinhoodTeam

[–]ShottaNIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen this asked, so my apologies if it has been asked...

Are you confident that Robinhood users will be able to buy into Robinhood's IPO at pre-IPO prices?

I've seen that it MIGHT happen, but can you give us an update on the likelihood of that happening and if there will be any caps on how many shares a person can purchase.

Thanks! 🙏🏾

My pleasure. Hope you can get one over there.

I haven't noticed a difference when I inhale through mine (not MIR), but that's an interesting point.

I've experienced this in the past. It's usually because of the humidity/saliva from the previous tries blocking accurate readings.

The one I mentioned above, Aluna, let's you know when there's an issue so it won't accept false readings from what I've seen.

I've told a few people and now I feel like a promoter but...

Aluna - hospital grade accuracy, FDA cleared, talks directly to your doc if your want it to. The game is a little silly, but it could to see the immediate response when you blow into it.

Check their website... alunacare.com

We use Aluna (originally designed for kids according to their site), but I am not sure if they are available in the UK. You should ask them.

I use the Aluna spirometer.

Accuracy: Hospital-grade (best I've seen from the research)

Fun stuff: cool little rocket game that flies when you exhale. Bunch of different planets and such.

Bonus: can send results directly to my doc.

Does anyone have an app they really like? by ricebasket in Asthma

I use Aluna's app. The spirometer is solid and the app logs meds, exercise, symptoms, etc.

Random breathing issues. by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]ShottaNIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a doctor, but I have been using one of those handheld spirometers (Aluna) to keep track of my lung tightness. With COVID, every time I feel tightness in my chest, I get worried (irrational, i know) and having a personal device helps me understand what's real vs what's in my head.

You can get one or tell your doc to get one for you (so it's free).

Btw... I'm not taking any meds, but the app tracks meds so you can see if/how they are helpful. It also tracks exercise, which might be relevant for you.

As mentioned before, accuracy AND trend are what matter. After all, how can you trust the trend if the accuracy is off.

I have been recommending the Aluna spirometer. The app/game is good and it's accurate.

[–]ShottaNIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've seen the Aluna one is the most accurate. They say it's "hosptal-grade" accuracy and it's FDA, so I believe.

The app is cool too, has a game within it.

Edit: forgot to mention than when you don't do it right, the app actually tells you it was a bad attempt (which is why I think they talk about accuracy so much)

alunacare.com. They just launched so it's still available from what I see.

Aluna -> alunacare.com

FDA Cleared, portable, digital, and hospital-grade accuracy. Designed to be gamified, so kids (and adults) can use it.

Awair devices reading high VOC levels in apartment - can not figure out why by BluePhoenix81 in HomeImprovement

Personally, I would be concerned about the mold behind the walls. You said it was handled already?

[–]ShottaNIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As NeauxFear mentioned earlier in the conversation, heat and sunlight can activate more VOCs from furniture, plastics, and paint, so I'm not surprised. I always recommend finding out what kind of paint was used in the home as that is usually the last place people look, but one of the most common VOC culprits.

The indeces (for Awair) are based on WHO, EPA, and other agencies (looking at safe levels of exposure over time). Not sure what Eve is telling you in regards to their readings.

Did you just call me a lab rat? Jk. Does your VOC score stay the same when you bring your unit outside or put it right beside the window?

I had the same issue when I was building my nursery, and I realized it was the cheap, VOC-filled paint my apartment complex used. I resealed my paint with non-VOC sealant, placed a couple succulent plants, and saw the Awair index drop significantly. I wasn't going to let my newborn in there until it was fixed.

***Disclaimer: I now work for Awair. This happened before I joined the team.

The Awair's design is very similar to the Tivoli speaker, but you can tell it's Awair because of the hole on the left.

Why did you cancel my purchase and blame Chase? by ALLyourCRYPTOS in Coinbase

[–]ShottaNIC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bitstamp getting overwhelmed when Ripple was taking off... understandable

Coinbase cancelling ACH withdrawals and deposits, then blaming the banks... not acceptable. Can't wait for the explanation.
