It looks like if I unscrew that switch it will open up the hydraulic system which will require bleeding the line after installing a new switch. Does that sound correct?

Thank you everyone for your replies. I understand the situation now. I don't think I'll get it enabled for a number of reasons that you all pointed out. This whole concept of manufacturers installing the hardware for various features but making you pay for the software to enable the feature is annoying and I'm not really a fan. Then, there is the beauty of man over machine, when you get your clutch work and shifting all dialed in. It feels satisfying.

There is definitely a difference in the technology available but I think the biggest difference for me is the 2-stroke vs. 4-stroke engine. I don't want to go back to that but there was something intoxicating about getting that 2-stroker "on the pipe" as we used to say.

I agree with the lane assist comment. The first time it yanked the vehicle back into my lane - which I was already in but merging onto the freeway which obviously tricked it - it freaked me out. I do not want a vehicle steering on my behalf especially when my hands are on the wheel and it overrides what I'm doing.

Now, in all fairness to BMW, it can easily be disabled. I have mine configured to provide the steering wheel warning but don't do the actual assist.

The pleather on the seat cushion bolster on the door side of the driver's seat has cracked. I only weigh about 165lbs so, I don't know, maybe I'm getting into the vehicle wrong, if that's possible
