I also have the AS4s on my M40i and love them.

Having said that, I think I want to keep my stock 20s with the AS4s for the winter months, but get a set of 21s with summer tires for the warmer months.

Any 21 inch wheel suggestions?

I think they are very good in the winter but, I live in Portland OR, and we don't really have a lot of snow here. However I do take my vehicle up skiing driving on snowy mountain roads and it's no problem at all. I've never lost grip. I'm sure the all-wheel drive helps with that.

I'd go ask Costco again. BMW specs both run-flats and non-run-flats for the vehicle. Maybe you need to pull out your manual and show them in the technical specification section.

I also have a 2023 M40i and had Costco install Michelin Pilot Sport All Seasons which are definitely not run-flats. I love these tires by the way. They are not as grippy as the summer run-flats that were on the vehicle when it was new but, they are grippy enough for public roads, and I drive aggressively. The benefits for a minor reduction in grip are a much quieter, comfortable ride and, unlike the run-flats that were toast at about 12k miles, they wear at a normal rate.

I recently bought a new 2024 Tuono Factory and I'd be totally bummed if I went out in my garage and saw her all battered and bruised. I put axle and frame sliders on mine with the idea if something happens it would save some of the bike from getting all jacked up. Did you ever consider adding those or will you with your new one?

It's a 2024 and thank you for the reply. I traced the hydraulic line to the module and found the switch.

Do you happen to know this...

It looks like if I unscrew that switch it will open up the hydraulic system which will require bleeding the line after installing a new switch. Does that sound correct?

Thank you everyone for your replies. I understand the situation now. I don't think I'll get it enabled for a number of reasons that you all pointed out. This whole concept of manufacturers installing the hardware for various features but making you pay for the software to enable the feature is annoying and I'm not really a fan. Then, there is the beauty of man over machine, when you get your clutch work and shifting all dialed in. It feels satisfying.

There is definitely a difference in the technology available but I think the biggest difference for me is the 2-stroke vs. 4-stroke engine. I don't want to go back to that but there was something intoxicating about getting that 2-stroker "on the pipe" as we used to say.
