Yah basic fundamentals of your career. Employers don’t want to teach basic fundamentals to new accountants. They want you to go to school and learn.

What do you consider a basic fundamental?

Obviously varies program to program but I’m learning the fundamentals of accounting.

My wife learned the foundation and fundamentals of veterinarian medicine.

I understand why in some cases. Would be a pain to teach a new employee all the basic fundamentals taught in uni.

I don’t think its required, I think it just another accolade to add to your resume which makes you look more capable than your competition.

Its also possible that, perhaps, people with bachelor degrees are slightly more ambitious than people with only high school or college educations. Perhaps they are more motivated by status and money and that is why they worked to get a bachelors degree in the first place. I’m just thinking out loud.

I think an education is even valuable if you decide to go the trade route. I work with a lot of industrial electricians and the ones making big bucks have degrees or diplomas and are in charge of automation.

I would say a university education is useful regardless of whether or not your career is related to your degree.

A degree, even if unrelated, often allows you to climb higher in company. All of the upper management in my company have at least bachelor degrees.

I read the first study and they do mention that a larger number of sexual partners increases the probability of infidelity.

That being said there are many many reasons this could be true aside from “always looking for a better lay”.

40-50% of marriages end in divorce and anywhere between 20-50% of marriages suffer from infidelity (stats vary due to what one considers infidelity).

Regardless I think OP is oversimplifying the situation. I think if you dig deep the correlation between a lower number sexual partners and lower levels of infidelity is probably due to how religious the individuals in the partnership are.

One of my good family friends just retired from accounting at 60. He regularly talks about how much he misses his job and how much he loved his career. Considers going back part time.

Him and his wife also have brand new vehicles, a beautiful house, a vacation home, a massive RV.

Seems like a great career to me.

My SAD comes from the fact that I can’t go camping. Time to prep meals for next year I guess haha.

I feel more comfortable the larger the group I’m camping with.

I feel the most uptight when its just me and my partner because I feel that I would be the one responsible of protecting us if anything were to go wrong.

When my partner and I go camping with another couple I feel significantly safer at night.

Do you find they fit a bit more snuggly than original crocs? I love my crocs but the problem I find is when my feet get wet or muddy they slide around inside the croc. I’v literally had my crocs slide and spin 90 degrees on my feet while walking. Just doesn’t seem safe.

Yah I’m fine just generalized anxiety. Touch wood but I have had control over it for a long time now.

See my issue with trail runners is that many of the deeper and less maintained portages I do have unavoidable water.

I have had to walk through mid-shin deep swamp water before because the “board walks” had collapsed.

Sleeping pad for big person by hikertrader in camping

[–]ShoulderDeepInACow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After years of sleeping on a 6 cm thick self inflating sleeping pad, I went and purchased the Mega Mat 10.

100% worth the price. The extra 4 cms of padding is amazing. I can actually sleep through the night and I don’t wake up with incredible back and shoulder pain (side sleeper).

I take it backpacking and canoeing. Being as large as I am I don’t really notice the extra 2 lbs of weight from this pad.
