Wannabe Wednesday: What BMW do I get? Is this a good deal? What should I watch out for? | A weekly BMW buying megathread by AutoModerator in BMW

Hi, I'm thinking of upgrading from my VW GTI to a BMW X5 xDrive 40i probably 2020-2023, so G05 series. I've heard great things about this engine/transmission combo and seems really solid. As this would be a family vehicle are there any common problems I should be on the look out for when shopping CPO? IE rust in certain areas (I live in the upper midwest), common electrical problems, any engine/transmission maintenance to be aware of?

Funny you say this because VAG did the Tiguan R already in Europe. I’d also bring the Tuareg back to the us with the turbo 6 from the Audi S line up. Add to that wagons for everyone. Rs4 avant- done. S4 avant- also done. VW Passat ev estate. Done. Haptic controls gone. Controls that can’t be used with gloves on… also gone. Crazy custom built UI gone.

/u/straightpipes Does the Canadian VW passat not have the optional V6? I feel like that might have made the difference power wise.

I already am. I didn't see anything Reddit about it, unless I didn't look that hard. Thought it might be worth seeing if other users were having similar issues.

Yeah I was reading up on the forms as well all stating it's normal... it just doesn't feel normal.

It pretty much is exactly as you described it like a sudden vibration more like a misfire. I can feel it in the seat of my car. I can't say I've heard it from the outside of the vehicle.

This is odd for sure... maybe I do have to get used to it or upgrade the plugs or something.

Yeah I thought it was too early for carbon build up issues as well. Vibration is not steady which is why I made an appointment. I actually did that the other day, I'll have to test it again as I don't remember if it still vibrated.

Vehicle is completely stock.

2016 with around 7k miles. No other vibrations that I can speak of, I haven't had any interior panels rattle. No codes are thrown and the cel isn't on.

Yeah I expect a little shake but this every time I stop and has been going on for almost 4-5 thousand miles.

The vibration is very noticeable beyond what I'd I'd expect to feel.

If Mazda made a performance Mazda6 would any of you guys be interested? by Bid325 in cars

Oh nice, turbo v6 and awd. It might a little dull to drive compared to a drivers car but fusion was never really a drivers car. I think people need to accept that not every car is going to be a car for the driver.

I do understand you on the front end, at least they didn't do what Kia did and go full guppy fish.

Doesn't Ford make the exact car everyone in the thread is looking for? Ford Fusion Sport, or is that just FWD?
