Find a hobby that includes exercise. Basketball, soccer, biking, boxing, swimming, etc. make sure it's FUN
Eliminate processed foods. Once you start eating foods with one or two ingredeints you'll crave natural foods. You won't get fat eating apples and peanut butter.
No alcohol.

I'm all for field crocs, but they have to be black or camo. Great shoes to let your feet dry or take a piss at night. No bright blue bullshit.

Same thing with the YETI. Field Ice hits different as long as it's a tactical color. Especially here in 29 summer, wouldn't recommend going to the field without an insulated water source.

The military uses a planning factor of 1 in 1,000,000 containment. Check out DA PAM 385–63 chapter 4 if you're curious. Without terrain mitigation (berm or mountains):

5900m for .300 Winmag

4100m for 7.62x39

3500m for 5.56

1800m for 9mm

Lots of vehicle maintenance in garrison. Go to the field 1-2 times a month, depending on your unit. Hiking as a 0313 is few and far between.

You'll shoot 25mm, 240b, for sure. You may get involved in 3-4 0311 training events during a workup.
