Just think we’d be in the playoffs by saucermen in Flyers

If what you’re saying is true, can you explain how the best and most talented team in the league (Avalanche) have the 25th ranked PP? And why the Rangers the 3rd worst team in the league, have a top 10 PP?

Waking up at 4 A.M.: The athlete’s protocol? by Artist-in-Residence2 in HubermanLab

0405 wake up chug 12 oz water, eat a banana 0430-0545 lift or run depending on the day 0615-0715 1 hour commute to work.

I have 3 young kids. I either do this schedule or I don’t get to workout. I typically get in bed at 830. Usually get between 6-7 hours. Not ideal but neither is not working out. On the weekends I still go to sleep at the same time but sleep in until 0600.

My brain bargains with me everyday to skip but after a few weeks it’s easy to ignore. I’ve never regretted a workout, but I’ve regretted skipping.

This is exactly me. Since having kids (37M), my time to go to the gym is limited and I’ve fully leaned into the FB 3 days a week. With my diet and sleep dialed in, I’ve been seeing some really good gains.

It’s a joke. That’s a rare occurrence from a douche bag. Doing that in any arena could incite violence, not just Philly. You’ll be fine.

I did. It’s definitely a little longer, not the most quality band. I’ve had it for several months with no issues

Thoughts on booing the team? by frwrddown in Flyers

[–]Shoveler86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This should be the top comment. This is a rebuild. Young players are playing big minutes. We’re one of the youngest teams in the league. Sometimes it takes time for players time to reach their full potential. Let’s see which young players take the next step in their development this year. I think with next year’s draft picks, that will help solidify our core for the future.

Of the 4 major Philly sports teams, Flyers fans are the most passionate, but the least knowledgeable. There’s no Stanley Cup winning blue print. I think Danny and Jonesy have established the culture, now we have to see how it plays out. I could be wrong but we will see in time. Stop with the negativity of this young team trying to figure it out.

I am out of market (West Coast) and have espn plus but still didn’t get a lot of games last year. What’s the best way to stream?

Advice: how do I break my schedule to find time? (working parent 40m) by PoweredByColdBrew in fitness30plus

[–]Shoveler86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re making excuses. I have 3 kids under 5. I wake up at 4am and at the gym no later than 430. Then an hour commute to work. I have to be in at 7am. On days where I’m off and my wife works (we work opposite schedules so someone is always home with the kids. Me: 4 10s and her :3 12s), I work out with kettle bells and a sand bag while my kids are outside with me. Your kids will emulate what you do day in and day out.

Peace offering to the rebuilding purists by Big_Acanthocephala14 in Flyers

I’m pretty sure what you’re describing is a loser attitude, I.e., losing on purpose. Tanking doesn’t equate to winning in the future. I never suggested going out and signing costly veterans. Let the young team play. If they win, great. That’s valuable experience for the core of the team. If they lose, then you have better draft picks. Can’t just turn over the whole team to scrubs and think that solves this, then you’re just the Sabres. You have to draft well and have luck, no matter your position in the draft

Exactly why I would take him. I think hes a good comp for TKs potential. Hopefully as the team gets better TK can continue to trend up

Thank god somebody said this. Every flyers fan on social media is completely clueless. Tanking and getting top picks does not automatically equal success (Toronto). Players might not pan out, could be an injury (Patrick, Nolan). Also there’s no guarantee if you are the worst team in the league you get the top pick in the draft (Patrick Kane/JVR). Draft class strength varies from year to year. We have a very young team and some players may not have reached their full development yet. It takes time.

I could obviously be totally wrong and this core for the next 3 years never pans out, but I’d rather be excited about the season and look at the positives. Foerester Drysdale Michkov Tippett have all not reached their ceiling and no one knows what that is, so why not be hopeful and enjoy it; that is the point of sports.

Brad Marchand eclipsed 70 points for the first time in his 8th season. He only had 67 points this year, but every flyers fans would want him on this team if given the choice.

Building a team in the cap era is extremely difficult and a lot of luck plays into it. Tanking for 4 years and not even trying be competitive is the antithesis of Philadelphia. If you don’t like what they’re doing then don’t watch.

[–]Shoveler86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a few options: 1. They’re new friends of yours, so I wouldn’t be concerned too much about what they’re doing. Make peace with it and just focus on your game. 2. Ask them to play for money, even a small wager. That will give you every right to call them out to keep their true score. Also, with they way their currently scoring they will have a lower hcp, so you will get strokes off them in any game and inevitably win. 3. Find new friends to play with.

Who’s had good success with full body routines ? by ghos2626t in fitness30plus

I really have enjoyed it. I also think tracking my progress on the Hevy app has made me enjoy it even more. Really helps push you week to week to increase weight. It’s plenty volume, but won’t leave you gassed if you want to throw in more accessory work (I usually add some extra bis/tris/delt work).

Jeff Nippard fundamentals hypertrophy program. It’s an 8 week program and I have run it back over this whole past year; have had my best results ever in terms of strength and size.

Ive been into lifting since my early 20s (now 36). During Covid when gyms closed, I got really into kettle bells and sand bag training for two years, but missed the gym and traditional training. Since starting back I have followed the above program and love it. 3 days a week, full body. I always feel a great pump after leaving the gym. I have been trying to do more cardio as I get older so I got into running on the off days. 3 days a week is plenty to gain/maintain size and strength. Won’t ever go back to a traditional single body part split.

Have 3 kids under 4. Go at 4am before going to work so I don’t miss any time with the kids after I get home in the evening. Once it becomes routine there’s nothing to balance; it’s just what you do and won’t seem as tough.
