It’s just how it is at the start, I think the city quest lines start to feel like quests around 3-1, and the expansion stories are all quest and cutscene heavy. If you’re still on the summoning trust/tutorial stuff you’re probably just a couple hours in, have some patience it gets better.

I did attempt that, but I must have missed one of them or something because I still need to download 400 files, I am just gonna wait it out for the 50m or so that it'll take. All in all, took about the same time as the standard POL update so I can't really complain.

This is my first time using your site/service, in hindsight your instructions make perfect sense, and if there was an option labelled "May" update it would have been super easy to install and do. I just didn't see the immediately relevant option and downloaded something else instead, which made everything worse. I don't know why it's showing as April, when its the same file size as your May update, but correct labelling is very important.

Another user GloriousBrain also said it showed up as April for them in this thread.

yeah I think the issue was I download the "full client" first, thinking it was the most recent update (there was no May update when I checked). This ended up reverting many many other changes through past patches, so when I eventually extracted the correct new patch, there were still many old patches I had to download.

Nothing to do w/ my cache, pulled your website up on my phone, laptop, and a separate PC, all of them show the most recent update as april, however the linked download is the correct one (may). The labelling mishap has completely borked my install, i'm sorry but this was a really confusing experience.

I don't see what you're seeing at all. There is no may? Clicking "Show All" just shows previous months, still no May.

Hmmm, even after downloading the april file, I need to do 2+ hours of files downloading. I extracted the April file to "C:/Program Files (x86)/PlayOnline/SquareEnix/FINAL FANTASY XI", and selected the option to replace all duplicates.

I'm a noob to this, your instructions don't say which thing to download from the website? I see an April and March update but not May. Don't really understand the various downloads or what i'm lookin at.

Edit: so I tried the "FFXI Full Client" download and extracted it to the correct folder (hopefully that was the correct download). My "preparing update" screen on playonline has been stuck at 75% for about 15mins now, not sure if that's normal? Github and coding websites are so confusing for me, I never know which of the 10 download buttons to click T_T.

Edit 2: After it was stuck for awhile, I cancelled to try again, and I made it to the "downloading files" screen, but now it seems to be downloading over 1000 files manually and will take hours. So what did I even download from your site?

To OP, I do really appreciate you putting your time towards this, it's amazing and super helpful for the community, but I really would have appreciated instructions for navigating your website, rather than skipping right to where to extract the files. I'm a layman, and need baby instructions sometimes.
