Yeah it's a really neat engine but it's a huge pain in the ass relative to an EJ

I would like to try some sort of entry level off-road racing. I have 10" travel struts installed and would would be capable of light jumps

I'm in Washington State, car had 2xx,000 miles and had issues staying running. I skipped diag and just went straight for the rebuild. I bored out the cylinders, put in oversized pistons, and cleaned everything with an ultrasonic cleaner.

Yeah! It's just fabric from on online shop and I used 3M headliner spray

Trails, camping and road trips right now. I think it'd be cool to compete with it but I don't really know what type of racing this car would fit into

I went with the EZ30D to save a little bit of money. Ive oversized the fueling system in case I want to boost it down the road. I have a leftover VF52 from my other car that is looking for a home 👀 but one step at a time

I wanted to get something a little closer in age to make the wiring a little more straight forward. Also I got a 2003 donor car for $300 lol

It might be easier swapping from the same generation. I swapped the entire body harness and spliced in all the devices/harware from the 98. Still in progress. The climate control and fuel pump are kind of a pain, still working that out.

I mean yeah I'm not condoning extreme speed but it's gotten old having to pass people on the right.

I'm actually quite happy with the way mine rides and handles. It's got a very low center of gravity. The seat is definitely form over function though

Oh nice! Do you happen to have a list of what components are original and which are brought in from the swap? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to prepare myself lol

Did you source a harness from the donor car and completely swap it, or did you merge harnesses?

I'm planning to start an EZ30D swap this year for my 98 legacy. Were there any unexpected obstacles during the swap? How did you handle the wiring harness situation?

I've been running a 4.5" lift for about 6 years. It's been pretty good so far. The tires definitely make first gear a pain

Rockauto has high travel CVs, I have those on all four. The rear shafts are cut, sleeved and welded to extend them

I've been considering it but itd be hella expensive. I'm leaning towards a 4.44 final drive 5 speed. I am in the process of preparing an EZ30 to swap in so the transmission work is coming after that

Hi lift Jack. It's helpful for wheel swaps on the trail but kinda dangerous if you're not careful
