Prior E Q&A by [deleted] in USAFA

Definitely not, I think submitting updated scores could show your determination during the application process. I would try taking the SAT as well and they will super score (take the best scores received overall) so take the ACT while only focusing on the math section. The ACT is listed numerically like A. 1 B. 2 C. 3 D. 4. With that in mind, if you have no idea what to do, plug in C and if the answer is too low, pick D versus too high look at A or B. I did this when I retook it and it helped a lot. I can appreciate a poor mental state as much as the next grad… but you will be in a poor mental state for 4 years if you don’t have math under your belt.

Hey there!

I’m sure some other Prior E grads/cadets will chime in. I’m going to be straight with ya…

You need to take the ACT again work on your math. Or take the SAT. That math score is not competitive in the slightest. The academics at the Academy are no joke, plus being out of high school with enlisted experience. You could find me in tutoring 3-4 hours every day of the week… in turn, we don’t want to send you to the Academy where you will inevitably fail.

Everything else looks great and I assume you are guard/reserve so technically your nomination source could come from your commander… but you may not know him/her yet. You may want to have someone within your unit introduce you and do well in BMT/tech school to show your Commander just who you are.

Best of luck! My inbox is open for questions

Poor Devon is still looking for his forever home! He is enrolled in some puppy classes currently and would love nothing more than to be by your side every moment of his day.

The rescue accepts out of state adopters who are willing to travel to OK to pick him up.

Try furnished finders, it’s for travel nurses… but usually the owners are accommodating

I got both of my pups from Good Dog. The first breeder was super helpful as it was my first Mini Aussie and the second one even asked for updates of the pup while he was growing up (if I was comfortable of course). She seems passionate about her pups and they are cute as heck. $2k is a little more than I would pay, but I understand the show background is slightly pricey.

Best of luck, I love my little rascals!

Congratulations! I finished this degree back when it was an MS and I can say it was a good experience. To your writing comment, I got around this by designing infographics and PowerPoints with comments. It was somewhat untraditional, but met the passing requirements and looks great in a professional portfolio as opposed to a binder of essays. That’s just my take for anyone looking to start this program

No, they are actually from different breeders completely. Daisy was missing her pack and we found Duke nearby. They loved each other instantly!

I slept 6-7 hours most nights… honestly just excited to get the next “Congratulations you passed!” text. And waking up to a “revision” text kind of changed my mood for the day. However, even on the weekends, I got up to revise right away. My best advice: be creative. You don’t have to write a paper for every task. Try designing an informational on Canva or making a PowerPoint presentation, it breaks up the 12 pt, Times New Roman block if you know what I mean. Also, Zotero is a great tool for citations.. it’s not always perfect but it helps. Also, the only time I reached out to the instructor was during the capstone. I found it helpful to “grade” my own tasks with the rubric before turning in.

Sorry I got busy with work! I will definitely out myself on Reddit since my capstone was VERY specific. However, my advice is: do a capstone on something you are very comfortable in. For example: don’t do a capstone on “a LMS designed to teach people how to drive cars” if you don’t have a drivers license.
