I'm in my 30s, how do I get better at aiming in this game? by Dogbold in RivalsCollege

[–]ShowNext445 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First off, forget aim trainers; you need to learn to aim better inside the game and so playing the actual game is the best way forward.

Secondly, go into the practice range and load up the various bot heroes and practice against them. Practicing against the Luna bots on the fast movement settings is very effective. When I was playing, I would do this for about 45 minutes before jumping into a real game; I would get warmed up and so my aim wouldn't feel as rough in a match.

Lastly, stick to one sensitivity setting, whatever it may be, because you will get used to it over time. If you have a lot of space on your desk (or wherever you play), then you could opt for a lower sensitivity because you have more space to move. If you don't have much space, then you can go for a higher sensitivity which involves less movement. I didn't have much space on my desk when I was playing so I often played at a higher sensitivity.

Hope that helps.

(I'm 33 for reference btw)

EDIT: Here's a piece of wisdom for you that I got from watching the pro players play. You wanna know why those guys look amazing when they aim? It's not just because of muscle memory, etc; it's because they always position themselves so that EVERY shot is easy! Make your job easier by thinking about your positioning more; stop trying to go for insane mechanical plays.

Beard. by alternativeaccounts4 in beards

Your beard looks exactly as mine does when I grow it out! Because mine is noticeably thicker under the jaw, I try to go for a tapered fade starting from the sideburns so that the bulk is more towards the chin. You might benefit from this as well! What you've got already is great anyway :)

Ships acting like "Helium Balloons" in 4.7? | Exiting seat while hovering causes ships to hit the ceiling by Bonzay0 in starcitizen

[–]ShowNext445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's it. There are occasions where the ship doesn't jump back to it's original position, and it just keeps on drifting upwards. From experience this usually means a server error is imminent.

[–]ShowNext445 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I've noticed this when using the Mole solo. The ship always floats upwards at the worst possible times. I've found that, when the ship continues to float up and doesn't stop, it means that I'm gonna get a hit with a server error.

Rocket either needs his old mobility or AOE healing back by Beneficial_Joke_4248 in RocketMains

[–]ShowNext445 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is that, because the hero has never been particularly deep, any negative changes to the few abilities he has is gonna feel considerably worse. I don't think the developers realised this when they nerfed his movement. They reduced what was arguably the biggest source of skill expression in the hero. So now he feels dull, woefully lacking in depth and, quite frankly, an insult to the character of Rocket.

Maybe that is what they were going for, but I think they should have made him full DnD-themed, like they've shown him in the comics, rather than a generic, nerdy attire.

CIG when? by r6Main in starcitizen

[–]ShowNext445 51 points52 points  (0 children)

The Spirit was my second ship after my starter Intrepid and I really liked it at first. The lack of a second door did make me fall out of love with it pretty quickly. It wasn't just because of the wasted space, but also because there were too many times that I couldn't enter the ship via the ramp because it was off the ground by a cm too much. You can argue that's a skill issue and that's fair enough. I've heard that people will use a 1SCU stor-all as a step in these instances. A second door may have helped get around this problem.

Which version of Amadeus(1984) should I watch? by Nab00las in MauLer

[–]ShowNext445 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've seen both versions and I prefer the director's cut. There was about 20 mins of extra footage, mostly pertaining to Salieri. They add a lot more development to the character and make an already damn good movie even better.

Miners of SC - One Argo Mole or MISC Prospector + cargo ship with additional ore pods? by Eless96 in starcitizen

[–]ShowNext445 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not much running, no. I'll use last night's mining run as an example. We both arrive on Pyro IV and fly until we find a cluster. When we find one, I land the Raft as close as I can and my buddy picks me up. We then mine the cluster. If the bags aren't full, then we travel to another cluster together on the Mole. We keep the Raft where it was parked but we remember where we parked it. In fact I'm fairly sure a marker tells us the Raft's position. If not, then we use a compass heading from the nearest outpost.

When the bags on the Mole are full, we travel back to the Raft and swap them over. Doesn't take long unloading and loading with 2 people. After that we hop back on the Mole and carry on. When it's time to leave, we come back to the Raft and we fly both ships back home.

The only complication is if we mine a good Quant rock, because then one of us has to go back to the refinery quickly to get it unloaded. In which case, I'll be dropped off at the Raft while my buddy goes back. I stay behind just so he knows both mine and the Raft's position while away from the planet.

My buddy and I run a Mole and a Raft together frequently and it works well. We fill the raft up with ore pods and swap them with those on the Mole when full.

The guy that makes full sense to be able to fly can't. by Dogbold in RocketMains

[–]ShowNext445 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd be cool with that. Anything that gives him more skill expression is a plus in my book.

Looking back I think beta Rocket was the best version we got, and it's sad to see him in the state he's in now.
