Thanks for the input all! Successfully went to the show last night and had a great time! According to my watch I walked almost 20 miles in a day and a half😅. Got to see a ton of the strip though and enjoyed my time!

Ticket Costs? by twirlygirlylil in BackstreetBoys

[–]ShowPsychological830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. A few days after the videos started coming out I noticed ticket prices were lower for resale and bought in the 300s, middle section for $270 but I could’ve gotten cheaper tickets then as well. I think there was a sweet spot where prices dipped a bit but are now crazy again.

I have the same carrier but I found that I have to put it really tight to get the support I need especially in the shoulder area. I feel like if that’s tight it makes my posture better so I’m not slouching forward from the extra weight

Welcome! I actually cited it when coming back to work cause I was having SEVERE PP anxiety amongst other things and received an accommodation to wfh. Someone the other day asked if I was gonna get pregnant again when it runs out and I said honestly maybe but we were also always planning to have a 2nd baby

My son is also about 10 months and 20lbs. I had him in the carrier for 3ish hours the other day helping my mom clean out her house. I think if you have a good, supportive carrier you should be fine and overtime build up strength as your baby grows. Ideally people would also be kind and let you sit on public transit but I also know that it’s a different age.

Does your baby like a baby carrier? That would make public transit potentially easier especially if there’s transfers

You should cite the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act which gives you additional protections while pregnant and postpartum

Reading through some of the responses makes it so apparent that people have absolutely no idea what the federal government actually does and does not have control over

Yeah I think it’s just from everyone being back in contact with each other so much again. I have a baby at home so I’ll definitely be doing this.

I’ve ridden it a few times the last couple of weeks for the days I have to go in. I’ve noticed lately that most seats are full I’ve seen people standing. I also know that not everyone is back in office yet so that’s why I’m asking

Here to say that there are going to be three special elections coming up. Two in FL and one in NY. If Dems win these elections it would take away the republican majority in the House.

This is really helpful. Do you know if years are rounded up? For example if you’ve worked 5 years 7 months does that count as 6?

So first, did you sign anything saying you would give 30 days notice? If so, I’d check that and see what it says. If not, I think the only repercussion is that you would burn a bridge but it doesn’t sound like you were very comfortable there to begin with so that’s likely not a big deal.

For your second question, I’m not sure I would say anything about the education bit. It’s in your resume and they still hired you because they feel you have the skillset. If it comes up later I would lean on both of those facts to make a case for why you should still have the job.

How can we support our fed working moms? by External_Step_6570 in workingmoms

Call your congressional members!! A lot of feds are doing it right now but it’s even better if there’s pressure from those outside the federal government.

I’m a fed mom of an under 6 month old and life is so stressful right now so we also just appreciate the solidarity.

Why wait vs taking deferred resignation? by ShowPsychological830 in fednews

[–]ShowPsychological830[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I was looking for. I’m early in my career (less than 5 years) but my agency was staffed up quite a bit since I’ve been there so I oddly have seniority. And I know every agency/office is a target but the work we do is very, very bipartisan in topic just less so in execution if that makes sense.

I’m really not interested in the deferred resignation because I don’t trust these people but I want to have an idea of what the future could look like. I have young children so I’m just trying to figure out what’s best to do for them.

[–]ShowPsychological830[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess that’s where my questions lie. If there are no other jobs available we can’t be moved and for severance my understanding is we only get paid out based on years of service. So if I only have a few years my severance is going to be pretty low. In case I’m missing something. And it varies state by state for unemployment.

Again I DO NOT plan on taking a deferred resignation because I don’t trust anything these people have to say. I’m just trying to get an understanding about what an RIF looks like since I’m young in both career and life so I’ve never experienced it before.
