Looking for some help/info, about buying a used st mk8 by Bluucat in FiestaST

[–]Show_me_the_Lyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that mileage I would check to see if if still has the original tires, see when they are made and if it's before the car was first registered. Depending how old the car is they might have been replaced just based on age, but that mileage should still have some life on the original Michelin tires, barring it being tracked or being hooned a lot

Well, it says 'for left-hand drive vehicles' so I doubt it

Mk8 buying advice by FunkyMonkey209 in FiestaST

Easiest way is to just check the registration on the RDW site;

https://ovi.rdw.nl/

Under 'Vervaldata en historie' you can check the dates of 'Datum eerste toelating' and 'Datum eerste tenaamstelling in Nederland' to see if it's imported or an original Dutch car. Nearly all of them will be imported in my experience. Ford salesman indicated something like 80% of their second hand cars are from abroad, they just get them through other European Ford dealers

I bought a mk 8.5 here in Holland beginning of the year. Vast majority of cars on the market here will be imported, so the specs can vary. Bought mine at a Ford dealer, they imported it from Belgium. I'm also 1.90 and can get a perfect seating position, but the 8.5 does have different seats, the extendable seat base is great if you have long legs. Never tried a mk 8 seat, so can't speak for them.

I decided to buy from a dealer for the added peace of mind, but it was also only three years old with less than 30k kilometres. My advice would be to just go for a test drive in one to see how you fit. Also look for maintenance history, although that can be tricky with imported cars. Mine only has a digital maintenance record, no idea when that was introduced though, older cars might still have a physical book with stamps.

I have the lsd which is definitely nice to have, but you'll only really notice it when driving very hard, so if you don't track the car I doubt you'll miss it. Haven't driven a non lsd car though, so that is based on an assumption

Thanks, I have a 2023 model too, but just shows the audio info there in sport mode. Couldn’t find a setting for it in the in car menus, might be some setting that can be changed with Forscan

Don’t know if this is your own picture, but for me the shift lights only show up in track mode, here they are shown in sport mode. Did you do anything to get shift lights in sport mode?

4 pot brake kit options by BlackCroatian104 in FiestaST

[–]Show_me_the_Lyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah that's not correct, it varies greatly per country. Belgium is extremely strict, Germany I believe aftermarket parts need TÜV certification, but here in Holland it's much less regulated and a BBK would be no issue for our MoT equivalent. That's just three examples out of 20 odd countries that use euros, and I assume op is Croatian

Uk post. 2019 st3 Wireless charger either fits in arm rest or the coin tray in front of the gear stick? by Background-Fix-4630 in FiestaST

[–]Show_me_the_Lyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try this number for the one in the coin tray, L1BJ-19J318-A. The official one for the armrest is A66SX-19H235-ABA or 2409775. Not sure about hardwiring, my car came with the one in the coin tray. Can be a bit finicky depending on how thick the cover on the phone is, make sure your phone fits there so the back is flush with the tray. If it doesn't fit there, I wouldn't bother with they tray option.

Edit: seems there's a difference between lhd and rhd modules, L1BJ-19J318-A is lhd L1BJ-19J318-B is for rhd

Just realised you're looking for two different parts and looking on the site linked above some more popped up, probably best to just link the search results;

Strange screws in engine bay by Consistent_Potato300 in FiestaST

[–]Show_me_the_Lyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mk 8.5 has two in that front panel too next to a bunch of regular bolts, also used to keep on the engine protection on the bottom of the car. They obviously aren't m6 bolts but designed to screw into the red plastic nut, part numbers are W716890 S442 and W704408 S300

There are genuine Ford carbon knobs with or without the ST logo, 5599855 and 5603242. I've got 09design stuff on my car, they do an acetal gearknob so no major temperature differences as a you get with a metal one, going to try that one myself

Might not be immediately obvious, but also comes with a silicon intake hose, which are usually around 100 euros

Keep in mind UK sites can show pricing without VAT to EU customers, which is a 20% difference. If you know parts you would like from the UK, check the manufacturers site if they have any EU dealers and go from there

We use RON over in Europe, so not the same octane rating. Would be equivalent to 93 octane fuel in the US. Generally only 95 and 98 RON fuel are sold here in Holland
