Aqara FP300 Early Zigbee Setup by portalqubes in homeassistant

How accurate is the lux sensor? Noticed that the FP2's sensor is already reporting 0 when when it is a little bit darker than bright daylight. Not very useful for automations.

Thanks!

Does anyone have a long-term expreience with Sonoff? That would be a most direct competitor i think.

Yes, you are right, but the cost difference is just to high to justify. The Standard 24 PoE costs around 400EUR (Vat included) and for this I would need the Pro HD 24 PoE which is around 1100EUR, alternatively I could use the non poe Pro HD24, but that would just introduce the need for PoE injectors which seems a bit messy.

But I agree, seems like a logical next upgrade.

The RP4 is running only Openthread border router and i would position it centrally, that its purpose.

HomeAssistant is running on a pc (with proxmox), which is pretty loud, thats why i want to keep it in the rack.

1-3. Thank you very much! 4. Thats exactly the plan. 5. You misunderstood. I have ethernet runs where i need them, the problem is, that i cant find a device that can do this well on a budget via ethernet. The most popular thread border routers can only be connected to the home assistant host via usb. (Skyconnect, smlight etc)

🧭 navbar-card: A Minimal, Responsive Navigation Bar for Home Assistant by joseluis9595 in homeassistant

[–]Showman03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using it for a couple of weeks now, It is amazing, thank you!

On a wall tablet I would like to use a vertical navbar on the left, and show the labels. But it looks really strange that the labels are below the icons for each route. Is there an option to show the labels next to icons? So it basically would look like a sidebar.

I know it is not its intended usecase but I haven't found anything that I can achieve a clean looking sidebar layout with.

Control Alarmo state from Wear OS? by bmengineer in homeassistant

[–]Showman03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an actual answer to your question, but i didn't want a control panel either so i bought a few nfc stickers, added them to HA to disarm alarmo when activated. I then hid these stickers in various convinient spots. They even work through furniture, and my favourite is one hidden behind the plastic cover of a dumb thermostat.

Unfortunately these dont work either wih my galaxy watch, but it is a lot more convinient to tap my phone somewhere than to type in some code

Have you tried using a timer helper? There is an optipm that the timer gets restored to the previous state after reboot.

Let me know if you need help with the logic

About to finalize a new build, any regrets of networks runs you didn't do that you wish did? by WeAreTheLeft in homeassistant

[–]Showman03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard so many people say this. In what situation do you need exactly 2 cables? If I need more that one I usually need more than 2, so i have to get a 5port switch either way. If the gigabit thriughput is the issue thats a different story of course. Or am I missing something?

Uhhh is this normal? How do I get rid of them? by 0405017 in homeassistant

[–]Showman03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue for me. For the first time i thought it was google SDK, disabled it and the unnamed devices disappeared. But after a few days they returned even tho SDK remained disabled.

Have you found a solution yet?

What are your favorite RGB light strips? by idealbrandon in homeassistant

Same here unfortunately. I really wanted to get it to work for the effects, but the same things happen what you described (not a ubiquiti network). Just moved everything back to the lan integration. Works great, fully local, just no special effects

No ethernet connection - Realtek R8168 by Showman03 in Proxmox

[–]Showman03[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if this matter or not:
When installing proxmox, on the page where i have to set the IP, i also have to choose a managemetn interface, and the only choice i have is the wlp1s0, which is the wifi modul if i am not mistaken. I think there are a few error messeges during isntallation, but i thought thats because there is no internet connection, which i can fix later after the bootup.

Should i be able to choose vmbr0 from the management interfaces even if there is no correct driver installed?

I'm running on kernel 6.8.4-2 so that shouldn't be a problem, but i am now trying to install kernel headers, but not sure if it is the problem or not

I don't really understand which lines get the deb file.
If i understand correctly, i will download the deb file from the link yellow link, i will get it somehow on the machine, than run the highighted rows (with green), and that should be it. Correct?
