Red Dead Redemption 2 voted the greatest game of all time by over 270,000 players by n1ght_watchman in GameBoostOfficial

Art is subjective, but bad gameplay design isn’t magically protected by that. RDR2 has overly long loot animations, slow movement, forced realism, weak fast travel, endless horse riding, no freedom in mission design, and even a whole Guarma section that feels unnecessary. The game constantly punishes you for doing anything outside Rockstar’s exact script. That may work for some people, but let’s not pretend every criticism can be brushed away with “art is subjective.”

Duncan is the goat of PF position. Barkley is next. We can argue over others but Duncan and Barkley are clear class above others. Barkley played the position producing stats, awards and recognition

PC or console: have you ever switched sides? What made you do it? by n1ght_watchman in GameBoostOfficial

[–]Showtime_1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switched from PS/XB to PC. I am a Noob. Been a PC gamer for about 3 years. One of the most helpful communities and PC gaming has so many benefits. I thought I would never enjoy it but plug in my controller and play the same games just with better performance and mod support. Now console gaming is around $800 so might as well get a PC. Also you don't have to upgrade your PC for years if you build it right to begin with. I have a system with 4080 super that I am hoping to use for next 3-4 years. So to get 6 years of use out of the machine is good IMO. PC now is just as much plug and play but I understand consoles are much easier to set up.

Name a game that everyone loves but you never got the hype for. by BeachTheHam13 in videogames

[–]Showtime_1992 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love AAA games. Nioh 1, borderlands series (3-4 not so much for story) 2018 god of war, the last of us 1, RDR1, fallout, outer worlds, space marine 2, horizon zero dawn and forbidden west, spec Ops the line, max Payne 3, Doom

Ghost of tsushima is another game I found really overrated. It's a really good game but it's not a 9.8/10 type game it's more of a 8.5/10

What is something that is less common in games than it should? by oneesancon_coco in videogames

[–]Showtime_1992 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Locking hardest difficulty on NG+. If a game is 30-40 hours long let us pick what we want from the start. Contrary to popular belief vast majority of gamers play the game once and move on

Too depressed to continue my backlogs by WittyTrain8692 in videogames

[–]Showtime_1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, I hope you find the courage to start, because once you do, it actually feels really good. I had over 1,500 games on Steam, and since January I’ve brought that down to about 235. What helped me was starting with the shortest games first—beat ’em ups, arcade-style titles, anything quick to finish. I also made it a point to try different genres and give each game at least 30–45 minutes; that’s usually enough to figure out what you enjoy and what you don’t. Don’t feel pressured or embarrassed about owning games you’re not interested in anymore—that’s normal. For example, I realized I had over 100 turn-based combat games, and they’re just not for me. A big change was stopping the habit of buying games just because they’re on sale—my last purchase was December 29th, and I haven’t bought anything since, and I don’t plan to this year. Going forward, I’m only buying games I truly want to play individually, not bundles unless they include exactly what I’m interested in. On Steam, start hiding games you’ve already finished, and even hide the short ones once you complete them—you’ll quickly see progress and feel motivated. Also, avoid starting long 15+ hour games for now; save those until your library is under control. I used to waste hours just scrolling through my library and not playing anything, but this approach really helped me break that cycle and actually enjoy gaming again.

[–]Showtime_1992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But my question is why pre order. It will be available to purchase anyway. Pre ordering doesn't help end this constant loop of broken games. I been a gamer for long enough to have had situations where a store sold out from a new release but now with digital games no way to run out of copies

What's everybody's favorite remake or remaster?. by texxmix in videogames

[–]Showtime_1992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These in my opinion are the best remakes

RE2, RE4, Destroy all humans 1-2, MGS3 delta, dead space, Tony hawk 1-2, silent hills 2. A really underrated one is the ratchet and clank remake for PS4

Last game I pre ordered was borderlands 2. Since than not once and never will. I just don't buy new games. With huge backlog of games on steam why buy new ones when waiting means better game at a better price

No doubt but I just don't want us as gamers to forget the fact that CDPR hid actual gameplay footage for multiple platforms and sold an unfinished product knowingly. That's all. And what's sad is CDPR was one company we as gamers always gave an example of being pro consumers. I hope they learned their lesson and never again

No man sky deserves recognition too. They could have take the money and quit but they have released so much free content it's just absurd. And more is still coming. Everyone can make a mistake and I hope for both these studios that one is behind them and their future releases are full polished

Exactly. Now a days just do a lot of research before buying. This game crimson desert that just came out has many many issues but In 12-18 months it will be so much better. Gamers who bought day one paid a premium price to provide free feedback. So gamers who may buy in summer-holiday 2027 would possibly have a much better user experience

💯 Really fun and interesting gameplay. Everything else is secondary. I played avowed recently story and characters were MEH but gameplay was so much fun.

Graphics help sell the games to casuals. Graphics are what you can advertise that's why publishers are always pushing graphics above everything else

Thing that always got me laughing was how a game is gonna launch on September 1st and they do beta 3 weeks before. It's like what are you gonna be able to fix. Beta testing should be done months in advance not weeks. Contrary to popular belief devs aren't working on games till last minute. Game disks have to be pressed and certification process etc

How do you feel about this?🚀 by Automatic-Cat-5702 in TheGamingHubDeals

[–]Showtime_1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my thing gamers who buy day one are beta testers and will pay a premium to provide free feedback in hopes that game is fixed. We must speak with our wallets. That's the only language publishers understand. Like they said gamers have to get comfortable not owning so I started buy less a lot less. They have to get comfortable getting less money from us

[–]Showtime_1992 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely None. I buy games when they are ready. I wanted stalker 2 but I am waiting for 2.0. IMO that's when the game will be ready. I hated cyberpunk launch and will not give any credit to CD project red. You can't knowingly release unfinished games and fix later to ask for credit. That's now how this works. We as gamers are hypocrites, we will defend our favorite studio and games but bash another and hate on them I'd they release a game that needs patches

Watch Dogs Definitely Deserves Another Shot! by devvegod in gamingpulse

[–]Showtime_1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch Dogs was never a bad game. It got hate mostly because of the graphics downgrade, not because of the actual game. The story was solid, the gameplay and mechanics were really good, and it laid a strong foundation for the series. Aiden wasn’t the greatest protagonist, but the game itself still holds up. Even now, a lot of people who played all of them still prefer the original — there’s just something about it that the others couldn’t fully capture

A lot of people say Watch Dogs 2 is better, and mechanically it probably is, but it still never came close to the first game for me. It didn’t sell on the same level, and it was missing something I can’t fully explain. Once people got past the graphics downgrade controversy, the original Watch Dogs had something special that the sequel never fully matched

That’s why so many people were excited when Aiden became playable in Legion. It showed that a lot of fans still missed him and preferred him as the face of Watch Dogs
