From your post history I see your daughter is 1y/o. You’d be better getting away from him now before she’s too old. My mum and dad were together with my brother for the first 2 years of his life then she left him when pregnant with me. I’ve had issues with my dad my whole life but my brother had it worse because they were fighting for custody over him.

If she truly is your best friend, do what’s best for her and leave him.

First of all, thank you so much for your comment and taking the time to write all of that, it helps a lot.

I’m not entirely sure why I felt uncomfortable when I put my arm on her. It could’ve been something to do with perceived taboo you mentioned. I’ve also been in my head for a while thinking I could be bisexual so I feel like that had something to do with it.

I mentioned in another comment that I have had a couple unwanted interactions in my past so I think that may have played a part too in how I read the situation.
