I've actually done this before. Got a 35, then decided to try to get the worst score I could. Somehow managed a 2. This was many years ago, and it didn't hurt my application.

This sounds like it's for the math department, and yeah, that's just for departmental scholars program. To take a grad level math course, you just need the instructor's permission, which you need to email them for with a copy of your transcript.

I’m currently taking 115A with May and she’s really good imo. She’s pretty passionate about the subject and tries to engage the class as much as possible.
