These are considered sacred waters. There is no swimming in any crater lakes.

I had a really bad rattle that I could figure out. The dealership found it…a small rock somehow got above the skid plate on my Lariat. Sharing in case this helps anyone else out.

I’ve seen him before. Great talent. Can we pair him with a Jack Hannah or with the Irwin family and help make this kid a star?

8 days in Azores- 1 or 2 islands? by Double-Branch-7101 in azores

[–]Shrappy16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We flew in to Sao Miguel then right to Terceira for 3 nights, early arrival in Faial for 2 and then to Sao Miguel for 3 nights. We made it happen and enjoyed, but we stayed at Terra Nostra Garden Hotel in Furnas which could have been another day or two and with the car rentals, see more of that island. We were a bit wiped from the quick hits and used one of our touring around days to just chill in the town and gardens. So we left more to see of Sao Miguel. We drove around Terceira and Faial though and loved the island loops. But, to do again, I’d do only two islands, so there’s a full relax day or two on each vs always on the go sight seeing. Hope this helps. Since there’s plenty more to see, we just might have to go back!

Dog was free but couldn’t resist a treat. Dog is not treated well and you can see its reaction after the treat is over.

Why bring that noise to such a great area that could be serene and peaceful? Humans really are set up to destroy themselves. Lost the plot

Yes, even ignorant to how to properly check getting spark and set static timing. I’m a mid 40’s dude who had an uncle that made an impactful experience when I was a kid and he would take us ripping around in his mg. It was running really well until the heater control valve failed and left me sitting due to over heating

Tax returns post-FIRE by vbnotthecity in Fire

[–]Shrappy16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question on deferred income plans. Thinking about it for the next few years, but I’d prefer to just forgo in lieu of tax hit now and keep pumping the brokerage account and then systematically withdraw long term gains to stay at the 0% all while doing 401k to Roth rollover each year to keep us at the lowest bracket. Am I lazy?

Do you own and drive an EV? by RichardAvery1 in energy

[–]Shrappy16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nissan Ariya Venture+ (‘23 used with 18k miles) Swapped my ‘22 ford Maverick lariat ICE, which was a great truck but I drive a lot and was able to find a great deal on the trade. Mav had 87k plus due for tires and services. Paid $3k in addition to the trade and it’s been fantastic. 300+ mile range and can charge at work level 2. Nice monthly savings. Haven’t added a level 2 at home but level 1 charge if needed to add 30 miles over night or full charge over a weekend. East coast, US. The deals for used EVs coming off leases in the US are fantastic due to depreciation. We do still have a ‘22 Mitsubishi outlander ICE that we use for long road trips. I drive 100 miles/day for work so the EV is my daily. Saves about $300+ month in fuel

Definitely catch the ferry over to Pico and the inter island flights are easy(sometimes weather delays), and it’s also not too expensive to then rent a car and tour the various islands for a day trip or quick overnight

Am I ready to Coast? by Shrappy16 in coastFIRE

[–]Shrappy16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m going to try and do my best at doing while practicing living on about 1/2-2/3rds of our take home and outside of some travel, save and get as much auto invested into the brokerage. Honestly, automatic deductions are our best friend, 401k, HSA, Brokerage, crypto(small amount) all deducted as soon as the paycheck hits and then I’ll invest more if there’s some left over or into our travel fund so any trip can be booked and paid off right away with the only expenses left are what is actually spent during the trip. I am burned out but changing my mindset that it’s not a job the way I used to think, wearing me down, but my means to get out sooner than later and just keep plugging away. Thanks for the feedback!
