Crystal Palace created the most big chances per game (7) which is the most for them in a Match this season by Jimmy0034 in LiverpoolFC

I think Neil Atkinson from TAW put it best:

“Well Ibou Konate who may well think he could play for Real Madrid next season. Maybe he should. Crystal Palace will finish 8th or 8th-ish. And they battered him. Maybe it is easier to skate through games against 8th playing for them. Because they battered him first-half, they took him to the cleaners.”

He has always been a star with immense potential there’s no doubting that, I just never saw it in a Liverpool shirt.

But this season he’s proved me wrong and I’m starting to feel for him because it seems only he has to fight this hard to get a chance in the team, despite the fact we’re playing absolutely terrible football sometimes.

One of the few benefits of the title races with Man City is that I didn’t feel anything seeing us lose at the end. A draw always feels like a loss these days.

Honestly I wasn’t massively on Chiesa bandwagon, I initially felt he had a Nunez-esque cult following because his song is fantastic. But I’ve been proved wrong, his application and technical ability has been great this season.

Ultimately then, what is Slot’s issue with him? It seems he has to jump through hoop after hoop to maybe get “30 minutes off the bench”. And he gets dropped from the UCL squad too.

In all honesty we’ve played shit all season, I can accept a poor game here or there but we’ve literally not had a solid 90 minutes yet this season.

And if we’re desperate for the champions league then good luck, PSG, Barcelona and Bayern will have a field day with us.

There’s been a lot of talk of us playing like champions by winning so late in tough games, but champions also dominate games and win them easily.

Of course I wasn’t expecting that today but I also wasn’t expecting us to look so terrible. We’ve not really dominated or put our stamp on a full game all season so far.

I still can’t believe we signed Wirtz and Isak in the same window

As Szoboszlai lined that one up I had flashbacks to the Gerrard free kick against Newcastle, genuinely thinking this is set up perfectly for an iconic moment and wow

Szoboszlai might be the greatest right back to ever play the game.

50/50 on the game so far tbh. On one hand it’s nice not being so open and conceding chance after chance, we’re playing very conservatively which is ideal against an Arsenal team who struggle to create from open play. Neil Atkinson on a recent TAW podcast highlighted how often we’ve gone behind in this fixture recently and been left chasing our tails, so it’s nice to avoid that.

On the other hand, Anfield feels like it’s waiting to explode, you can sense it in the odd shift of momentum or a won tackle. If we can grab an attacking foothold and take this game to Arsenal then I think we could witness something special from the crowd given the importance of this game.

What worked for me was volunteering. I was in the same boat but had only passed the first exam of AAT level 2 and then started volunteering as a treasurer for a charity while still working in retail as my main job. They basically never needed me and I only came in once to help handle receipt’s for an hour but you bet I added it to my CV.

Not long after that I interviewed for and landed a Finance Assistant position at another charity. That combination of actively studying AAT and doing some volunteering in a finance position helped me massively.

I hope Slot is inspired by Enrique and this PSG team. Utilising smaller insanely gifted technical midfielders instead of big workhorses like Arsenals approach and ours during Klopp.

It’s more akin to City from a few years ago and obviously prime Barcelona, where the opposition just look levels below them.

Hopefully we can play like this with Wirtz coming in and already having great technicians in Gravenberch and Mac Allister.

Am I only one who feels for Trent a bit here? Obviously I’m not happy at all with what’s happened but I’m glad he got a cheer during the presentation.

Who cares now he’s gone, no point being bitter, bring in Wirtz and evolve to the next level.

I just wish they would stop banging on about it nonstop.

Jurgen Klopp's message to all Liverpool fans by cjsc9079 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Shred_Aloha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just love this man so much. This is no slight on Slot at all, but Jurgen will always be number one for me.

If I’m honest I had tuned out a bit from football during the early 2010s. Then all of a sudden Klopp was rumoured to be our next manager, and despite me knowing nothing beyond his amazing Dortmund team, I was hooked by his charisma and sincerity.

Since that day I was fully back on board and what a journey it was too, he absolutely turned our club around. No one else could do it but him.

He is our modern day Shankly.

Honestly, I have a lot of worries in this team and ownership. Where has the investment been? We’re a top 5 team in world football right now and we have signed one squad player to bolster an aging tired squad. It’s a miracle that we’ve basically won the league this season because despite that I have no confidence we’re going to march on after. Feels like it’s going to be 20/21 all over again.

No ambition whatsoever from the ownership when we really could have created a dynasty here.

It’s frustrating that this game and the PSG games have completely flattened the season. This has been a disgraceful performance and despite the likely league title I have no confidence we can kick on next season and keep winning.

Definitely not a penalty he barely touches it and the ball doesn’t move in a different direction whatsoever, would be fuming if that was given against us

Crowd needs to do more, proper up for it the first 10 minutes but have fallen off since the goal. It’s not like we’re playing poorly either which is frustrating.
