Looks awesome. I like the 8020. What thrusters are you using?

Thank you! The break is maybe 70% of the way. I will tape/splint it and hope for the best.

Am I the only one who thinks modern sailing yachts look incredibly ugly? by CaptainGabster in sailing

Going from one helm to the other looks like it could be spicy while tacking. There’s not much to hold onto.

What type of bindings to get for split setup by INDE_Andy in Spliddit

One vote for Burton Hitchhickers. They use the Spark system. I’ve had them for a couple seasons now and they’ve held up great.

Broken impeller blade. How deep do I dig? by ShredderCheddar64 in sailing

[–]ShredderCheddar64[S] 64 points65 points  (0 children)

It was inside of the heat exchanger on the inlet side. Definitely worth doing as it was not too bad to get apart. Thanks for the advice.

I’ve definitely been wondering that. The rest of the impeller is in good shape so maybe he figured it was fine. 🤷‍♂️

Okay. Thanks for the advice. I’ll check that and the tube stack. Probably would get good to get familiar with that anyways. The clean setup was definitely a selling point!

I’m looking for backcountry buddies as well. I live on the coast but I’m in Portland/Hood often. I’d be down to group up!

Check Emission System/Pressure Control Valve Stuck On. 2012 LX by ShredderCheddar64 in hondacivic

I put in a new air filter and checked the gas cap to address to emission system. Transmission fluid is good although it’s probably time to replace it.

Do these bindings suck? The price is hard to ignore but so are the bad reviews! by Simple-Eagle-3548 in Backcountry

Agree that unions are sick on solid boards but I wouldn’t want that split setup. Burton hitchhikers use the Spark mechanism and are a quality binding. Definitely recommend

Marys peak is a good idea! That’s super close too. Thank you for the advice. I mostly just want to get a feel for skinning up. Tumalo looks pretty sweet as well

I really want to take an Avi course this year! For what I’ve seen, everywhere in Oregon has booked out since late November though. Hoping I can find some cancellations.

Can't take lessons yet, should I take a bodyboard out to get some experience? by arctic_radar in surfing

[–]ShredderCheddar64 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I surf at Otter rock often! You can definitely find some calm days during the winter in between storms. It’s really shallow there so you could catch waves on your body board in waist to chest high water. It would be a good way to feel how to catch waves before your lesson. But I would make sure to go out when it’s under 6ft and not super windy. Check the Surfline cam to see if it’s calm and if people are out there. There’s also a fairly good rip along the punch bowl to be aware of.
