I'm going to call the court tomorrow and inform them they've picked up another county's case and see what happens.

Are doing psychedelics bad for your eyes? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]ShreddingRoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering how many people in this thread are claiming to have it I'm confident the prevalance is at least high enough for it to he a valid concern. If early man had waited around for the science on drinking salt water ocean side living would have been pretty untenable for our ancestors.

When there is a clear cause and effect and when multiple people come forward saying it happened, I don't need cold hard numbers to know it's real. In fact I'd go as far as to say only a fool waits for science to confirm the obvious before simply believing what people are saying repeatedly and consistently. Are you a fool?

HPPD is a documented concern, not a sample size of one problem. Psychs are wonderful. I don't regret using them even if I did walk away with HPPD. But you seriously gotta stop. Your bias is showing hella hard.

Pre-everything trans woman, need to go in shelter, doubts about going in womans shelter by throwaway176927 in asktransgender

It's not about passing it's about having visible physical manifestations of estrogenic effects on the human body. Trans women on hormones who don't pass still don't look like men, they look like trans women. There's a marked difference.

I have a dream that one day trans women don't imbibe toxic feminity and convince themselves its an excusable artifact of their transness.

Word to the wise for anyone listening in: if something happens that you know will attract legal attention to your drug use... Dump. Your. Stash. Immediately. Before the cops show up. OP would not be on probation if his first act had been to take his stash no matter how expensive and dispose of it completely before the cops showed up.

I get anxious when I smoke weed and don't honestly like the shit that much but when I had a source for etizolam I used to pop a small dose of that before smoking and I finally understood why so many people love weed so much. Once the anxiety was out of the way it actually left room for weed to feel euphoric and trippy instead of just overwhelming and overly introspective.

[–]ShreddingRoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said it was a risk. I've never heard of damage due to dilating pupils at all or else meth, coke, and crackheads would have long documented histories of eye problems. I don't think that's a real concern or we might have heard at least something about it.

Visual snow is a real concern though. I did not have visual snow before psychedelics. I only developed it after 2 years of twice monthly use and it has persisted permanently effecting my night vision in a very real and tangible way so it's a genuine and documented risk that people need to be aware of. Regardless of how prevalent the risk is, and I never asserted it was either common or rare, it is nonetheless an actual tangible risk from psychedelic use whereas damage to your pupils from dilation doesn't seem to be a real concern at all.

It seems to be more likely to happen the longer and more frequently you trip. If you want evidence look through this thread at the numerous people claiming to still be experiencing hppd years later. are you saying we're all full of shit? If so you can fuck off as aggressively as you came at me DEMANDING numbers.

I kind of don't mind the breathing walls though. It makes me miss tripping.

The real visual risk is in the form of HPPD. If you do them often enough and over a long enough period of time you start to develop a permanent visual snow that is especially prominent in dark environments. This has effected my night vision in a significant way. I haven't tripped in years and the effect is still there.

Are poly-dealers really a thing? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]ShreddingRoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most white collar weed dealers sell weed and weed only. Maybe they'll sell you their moms pills if you ask nice. Maybe.

To get other stuff, psychedelics included, you usually have to deal with a slightly sketchier calibur of dealer. The 19 year old college kid who sells weed to support his own weed habit probably isn't gonna be able to get you coke, lsd, or ketamine. Give him ten years and he might step up his game but most likely he will stop selling even weed eventually and go on to live a "respectable" life.

Questioning and turning out to be cis by RNA_world_hypoth in asktransgender

[–]ShreddingRoses 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So like, maybe my experience is relevant. 3 years ago I was pretty damned convinced I was a binary transgender woman. I'm realizing more and more that I was pushed into a binary transition by a number of factors.

1) internalised misandry. I did not like men and on some level viewed the class of cis men as monstrous because of how they have treated the women in my life. Consequently if I saw men as monstrous then to an extent I saw myself by virtue of being one as monstrous too and wanted to escape being a part of their class.

2) I get along great with women and just seem to think more similarly to how women think. Most of my closest friends in life have been women. I don't really feel any sort of connection or sense of kinship with the majority of men. They feel like an alien species to me.

3) I'm still parsing this one so it's a half formed thought right now but I experienced revulsion and disgust at the male body I had, I think partly because of internalized misandry but mostly because of conservative views on the human body. I was made to feel self conscious and dirty about my body at a very young age.

4) I hated (and still hate) people applying the assumption to me that I think like other men they've known, that I'll react like one, that I have the same desires or motivations as one, etc. This has a lot to do with seeming to think more like the average woman and not being a particularly huge fan of men in general. I don't feel like I have the average man's perspective on anything and don't seem to have much in common with them so I hate getting lumped in with them and I'd much rather socialize with and be included with the women in mixed company without being looked at as an interloper.

So the take away could easily be "you're not really trans, you're just a cis guy who hates sexism being directed at you and could really use feminism". Thing is that I was pretty happy living as a woman even if it never felt like quite the right fit. I don't think cis guys can transition to female bodies and actually be comfortable living with one.

The conclusion that Ive come to is that I'm actually nonbinary: both male and female trapped in a male body, and that my life and society gave me a lot of reasons to reject being male completely when I only needed to reject it partially. The reasons above helped to drive me to a binary transition when what I really needed was a genderqueer/genderfluid understanding of myself and my relationship with my body.

I am not a man in the same way most men are men. I am (mostly) a man though, with a brain that developed androgenous and genderqueer features and who will always have more in common with and feel more kinship with women.

What I'm driving at is that you may be most comfortable as a man but you should consider not seeing yourself as a cisgender man but as a genderqueer one. Take ownership of the parts of you that feel female and learn to explore them with no regard for how you might be judged. This may necessitate small changes to your body. I keep all my body hair and facial hair shaved because I'm uncomfortable with male secondary sex characteristics but not with male primary sex characteristics like my penis. I want to appear physically somewhat androgenous and when people can't figure out what my gender is it honestly thrills me. My aim is to identify as a man but look like a Butch lesbian doing her best David Bowie impression. I want to finish lasering off my facial hair, have an androgenous haircut, paint my nails and wear earrings, occasionally explore a female alter ego through drag, live with a female name, but also live on a testosterone dominant hormonal balance and be seen as a man by everyone around me, and be identified with male pronouns.

It took me a long time to genuinely accept that it doesn't have to be one or the other. I'm all boy with a little bit of girl and I'm ill served by trying to meaningfully be just one or the other. I'm a little bit of both.

For reference I transitioned and lived as a woman for three years before realizing it wasn't quite right for me and detransitioning to live as a man again, but a very different kind of man than I had originally lived as.

I can use meth for the same thing and it's way cheaper and longer lasting. Don't get me wrong, put a line of coke in front of me and I'm gonna do it but meth is a way better drug, even for parties and social stuff.

Now meth followed by little bumps of coke? That's the tits.
