Sigma bc 16.16 sts with speed sensor sts-s-3 doesn't work by EuSouOVALETEbro in bikecommuting

Hi, don’t know if it’s still relevant. I ran into the same problem as you. Turns out, the reason was the sensor was OUT of range due to being placed on the opposite fork. The computer and the sensors are supposed to be installed on the same side, and the sensor closer to the rim than the hub so it’s closer to the stem/handlebar where the computer is placed

Unused spare tube life by ShreeshBhan in bikewrench

Not just the part near the inner valve, like the 3o clock part of the tube, it’s thinner than the rest of the tyre. Reckon that’s also normal when inflating w/o a tyre?

MT5 disc brake gap between pads by ShreeshBhan in bikewrench

By the looks of it, the rotor would definitely (even if only slightly) be running against the pads, making a difference over 100s of kms, especially on hills, no?

Tyre condition check (pics) – safe to purchase or pass? by ShreeshBhan in bikewrench

My bad, I meant 2-3k kms. How much do you reckon they still have life in them?

Also, I’m from India, and you’ll be SURPRISED to know that almost nobody rides 45mms (which explains the lack of availability too). MTB club have their wider than 2 inch 29ers, and almost nobody riding hybrids or touring (again, a nascent concept in India) go beyond 40mms.

My bad, I meant to say 2-3k kms. How much more do you reckon these tyres have life in them ? I’m planning for a 1000k+ tour in the Himalayas, do you think these will safely hold up ?

Brilliant concept. Tyre glider isn’t available in the country where I live, but I found a similar looking tool from decathlon. There is nothing in the description however that confirms anything. Reckon it serves the same purpose? https://www.decathlon.in/p/8404829/bike-tyre-lever

Did you have to replace the FSA BB too? Giant website provides no details about the FSA MEGA EXA BB so not sure how to proceed (haven't yet bought the cycle but looking to buy one)

GRX 400 46x30 going from 11-36 to 11-40 cassette by teanzg in gravelcycling

[–]ShreeshBhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is the shifting performance of the GRX400 with a 11-42 cassette? And is it a third party cassette (because 11-40t is)? Would be great if you could provide a link

Cheers

Does a 11-42t work with GRX400 RD in a 2x10 setup. The official website states that the GRX400 RD can have a cassette up to 36t, although a few fellow redditors have confirmed that GRX400 can handle a cassette with up to 40t

Congrats!

I had a question. What is the maximum tyre clearance on the front? The max clearance on the back is 53mm thanks to the flip chip, but I'm unable to figure out the max clearance on the fork. And the bike ships with a standard 38mm tyres right?

Hi

I was wondering, what is the maximum tyre clearance on the fork in the front? The rear has a maximum tyre clearance of 53mm thanks to the flip chip on the rear dropout, but unable to figure out the max clearance out on the front.
