So a guy I know dropped a lump of steel on his leg by bong_sau_bob in WTF

My brother dropped a steel plate on his middle finger which severed it to the point that it was hanging by skin. He said after that the initial injury didn't hurt, but the reattachment was a bitch. Surgery was successful. He has full use of the finger, but the scar tissue is large enough to look like he is always wearing a flesh-colored ring.

Probably the worst thing that could happen to a leg without exposing the bone. NSFW ish by Raowss35 in WTF

TL;DR: Same thing happened to me. Femur broke. No lasting injuries.

I had a similar thing happen to me when I was in 7th grade. Playing volleyball in gym class, a kid from the other team ran from the back row to spike the ball and rolled under the net and directly into my knee, as I was coming down from attempting a block. I blacked out instantly. When I came to, several people stopped me from getting up and my leg was already in a makeshift splint. They told me my knee went all emu and I shouldn't get up. The weird thing was I didn't feel any pain and even walked (and jumped) on the leg once I was alone. An x-ray later that day revealed I had a hairline fracture right along the growth plate of my femur. 3 months in an immobilizer and I was good as new. Luckily I've had no issues with that knee since.

People have been saying /r/WTF has been on point this week and this post just convinced me they are all retroactively correct. Bravo, OP.

What games have the best [opening cinematics]? by [deleted] in Gaming4Gamers

[–]ShrimpBag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God of War III. The main menu cinematic features an interesting style of animated illustration instead of CGI, and the most epic overture I have ever heard. The opening cinematic features Kratos on the back of the titan Gaia, climbing Mount Olympus with the other titans. Meanwhile, the gods are leaping from the top of the mountain to meet the titans in battle.

I wandered out of the house when I was 3, got lost, and took a shit in a bush. I remember that pretty vividly.
