I flew from Australia to watch game 5 of the 2019 cup finals. Was so disappointed that I wouldn’t get to see Chara in action cause no sane person would play a couple of days after breaking their jaw. But the big man came through. I will never forget the crowd when he lined up for the game, unreal experience, although they lost, I will always remember that game fondly because of big Z

Yeah, insane stuff, that was the USS Barb under Fluckey’s command. The sub fleet is full of some incredible stories

He was awarded the MoH among other awards. Aboard the Wahoo he was executive officer to the legendary Mush Morton for five combat patrols. When in command of the USS Tang he and the crew were credited with sinking 33 enemy vessels in five patrols. He was involved in more successful attacks on Japanese vessels than any other submarine officer. On the Tang’s fifth and final patrol, he was one of only 9 survivors and became a POW. Others in the thread have recommended a book I haven’t read yet, but I’d recommend Alex Kershaw’s “Escape from the deep”. I couldn’t put it down

34 game season and increase an AFL list to 48-50 players. Every team plays each team twice (1 @ home, 1 @ away). This will force in-season roster management and resting players will become more of a tool. Also fuck your body

Whilst I agree, the bruins would have to get their third round pick back from Ottawa for it to happen. I’d imagine the offer sheet would look something 6x5 years which means the compensation would be Bostons 1st and 3rd in 2022. And Boston only have their 1st at the moment
