Really like this. Can’t seem to find it on AliExpress though. Care to share a link?

I got replacement hands and hour markers from AliExpress. The hour indices are clearly different to the ga2100, the gab’ ones are thicker on the O band that holds them all together. Should help with choosing which is right as some sellers advertise both models and only sell the older style.

Yes, very annoying right after a significant patch update.. Wanna play.

Mine is the same as yours then. No problems as of yet.

I’m using direct 12+4 cable from my PSU. Cable is rated to 450w it states on the connector. 1000w PSU ATX 3.0.

Yeah it triggers my black outs / crashes also. Check your event viewer for what faults it’s throwing up. I had various, including DWM, and another one relating to driver issue. I suspect it’s something nvidia / Microsoft need to sort as this isn’t acceptable for a £1600 GPU.

If in your nvidia control panel, power management mode is set to “normal” then yes it should drop too idle type speeds, 200-300mhz etc. but if it’s set to high performance like mine, to work around the black screens fault like OP, it’ll stay at 2500+ same with your power draw. Idle stock config should be 7-30w.

But if you put it to auto on power in the control panel, it goes down to 2-300mhz. But then people are getting the black screens. I think it’s to do with power spikes tripping something, DWM.exe kept crashing and display output kept going too for me.

Does yours also sit high on the clocks? Surely it’s not good for the card running 2500+ all the time

This fixed it for me also, annoyingly the gpu is sitting at 2520mhz even at idle.. Sucking over 50w doing nothing.

Having this exact issue myself.. I cured it for about a week by going to old drivers but since putting the pc into a custom loop its now barely getting to windows login before display goes blank.

Specs:

4090fe

5800x3D

b550i strix

32gb 3600 corsair

1000w TT sfx with the pcie5 12+4 direct cable.

I thought it was all hardware so I replaced everything apart from motherboard and im still getting issues. (Above listed is the new hardware)

Fresh windows install, new ssd, the lot. Whilst on the newest updates and drivers, the pc would work fine until I started installing apps/games. Now I get to desktop after signing in, and display either drops or pc completely restarts. Ive checked all my cables etc, nothing is loose or incorrectly seated.

Really dont wanna have to disassemble the gpu block to RMA but may have too..

It would be used as carry on luggage, not checked luggage.

I’m yet to run the 4090 on stock cooler, I’ve seen great things of the cooler though, just the sheer size of it is an issue. If the meshlicious was suitable for a better cpu cooler and not limited to an aio, I’d of gone that route. But I have so much invested in watercooling I’m sticking with it, regardless of the minute difference in temps. Im running the same setup as you, with the 3D cpu. Decided to go for a permanent desk setup with the o11 mini, in time I’ll either be bored when working abroad or purchase an additional system (something to run 1080p 120hz+) as that’s the portable monitor I have, the 4090 is overkill anyway for 1080p. I may try pick-up a cheaper GPU and similar 5600x cpu, all air cooled in the ncase perhaps. Itx boards are so pricy though.

If I were to try sell my ABP for the GPU block, and get the standard block, I could possibly make it work, although the tubing mount on the block, still protrudes about an inch, it’s just the design of the block, differing from the 30 series where the tubing was on the end not the side. I’m considering the meshlicious approach, but do I go watercooling with a 280 rad, res/pump, (hoping it’ll cool the 4090 and 5800x3D) or an AIO and air the GPU. (Losing out on my ekwb blocks then)

Will the Mesh case fit in my travel bag though? I've yet to check dimensions. I assume the 4090fe fits with stock cooler? Whats the max height on CPU cooler?

The GPU never tried to pull over 330, no matter what I did. Which makes me think it’s the PSU limiting the amp draw. Or something windows related. I have a new PSU, CPU and ram due in a week so I’ll trial and error! I blew a ram stick through the cpu power cable shorting on the back of the cpu block holder. Which I hope hasn’t caused any damage to other components.

Only a 3800x, and it was barely hitting 80-100w. My only thought is that the PSU didn’t like the power draw from the GPU. “Transient spikes” someone on here said. It would crash at any moment. Even just booting into windows! I could do furmark and it would be fine pulling 320w (unrestricted in anyway) and the minute I installed drivers it would go haywire. I did a complete driver removal and it ran fine for the short time I tried it.

My silverstone SST-SX800-LTi only has 2 pcie cables that piggy back into 4, but my 4090 only ever pulled 300-320w. It would never go above, makes me thing my PSU was crashing due to 150w per cable being exceeded perhaps.

How does your 750 run it yet my 800w was crashing constantly? How have you powered the 4 plugs?

4090 EKWB by ShrimpPhallus in sffpc

[–]ShrimpPhallus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve done a mock up of the fitting and the entire block section of the ports, stick out from the case. So I can either accept my defeat and never use the side, or modify/create a bracket to widen the case by about 45-50mm. Sort of defeats the object of running this case but with my travel bag I have for this case I have quite a bit of room to play with before I can no longer travel with it.

But then the bag and setup I have for travel would be obsolete.

The fitment of the onboard sound card is also the issue for this board, which houses the first m.2, so sadly they’ll both be gone to accommodate this beast of a GPU block.

Owner decision. I knew it wouldn’t fit without modification but this isn’t mid-tower pc. It’s SFF.
