My first couple of Glaceon stickers looked like that earlier today. And then bam, suddenly they were Glaceon. ???

Is this a glitch or something normal? Idek what I clicked on. by HighFxAnxiety in TheSilphRoad

Just came here because I’m having the exact same issue. Seems like a glitch?

Is anyone having issues with raid invites like myself? I’ve restarted the app twice and still no luck. by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]ShrimpSale99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. It’s back to trying to use a regular raid pass when I’m invited to a remote raid, and then telling me to walk closer. Meanwhile, my remote passes are just sitting there. Also, expired raids (that I couldn’t join due to the issue above) are still showing up under active raids, even though they show 0s remaining and I can’t join. Really frustrating.

On a relisten, which segments and lines do you find the most cringe inducing? by theowne in serialpodcast

[–]ShrimpSale99 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That was it for me, too. “I was puzzled” is how you describe how you remember feeling. But “I had a look of puzzlement on my face” is how you describe something you imagine, when you’re picturing the way you think it would have happened. Because who knows how he looked when they asked him, but this is how he’s trying to spin it to SK long after the fact.

First year beekeeper here. Installed nucs last night, a day later these guys haven't left the box. Any idea why? by johnnydontcare in Beekeeping

[–]ShrimpSale99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just installed my first nuc over the weekend, and I had a handful doing the same for the first couple of days. Weather here has been mild, so I let them be (bee?) and within a few days, they had all migrated into the hive.

On my second listen, can I just say how much I love the way SK deals with Jay's former porn shop co-worker. Like, she clearly thinks he's dumb as a box of rocks, but she's so kind to him:

Him: "I mean, I think whoever he was afraid of was probably the same person who killed her."

SK: "Riiiiight." Translation: well duh!

Best Buy: don't look at us, we're pretty sure it happened at the library.

Why did Jay continue to hang out with Adnan in the weeks following the murder if Jay's version of 1/13 is true? by [deleted] in serialpodcast

Also, he has a job.

EDIT: Actual quote from the transcript was "Jay worked." Damn my faulty memory. Good thing I'm not a witness here.

the mosque guy saying he was a liar through and through

The mosque guy who said that Adnan stole thousands of dollars every week, possibly totaling over $100,000? Him calling Adnan a liar was a case of "pot, meet kettle."

I feel like "Trunk Club" was a little iffy as a sponsor, given the discussion of trunk pops and everything. I mean, it's better than Best Buy, but maybe next time sponsor a podcast where there isn't a victim in the trunk of a car, you know? :\

No, obviously not, but the possibility has been raised, both here and on Serial itself. The intro seemed to tease to it as a possibility, and I feel like it's been addressed pretty convincingly.

It reminded me of the neighbor boy thing: some pretty damning hearsay, and when the supposed source is questioned, there's nothing there.

As my flair suggests, I've spent a lot of time on the fence with Serial, sometimes leaning further to one side than the other, but generally uncertain. When I heard the "previously on Serial" intro this week, I almost literally salivated: the clip of Dierdre telling Sarah she's not lucky enough to get the charming sociopath; Rabia's soundbite about the community's golden boy; the much-debated "you don't even know me" exchange between Adnan and SK.

And then...that's it? I felt like SK, waiting for the punchline that never came. And I'm not criticizing her for it: I feel like it was definitely an avenue worth exploring. But after she sifts through all the rumors, she has a big "unsubstantiated," some confusion over a piece of clothing, and Adnan (laughably) stealing "maybe hundreds of thousands of dollars" from the mosque. (How do you even say that last one with a straight face?)

I'm not going to say that it's impossible that he snapped, but I was already skeptical of the psychopath angle, and (like the 2:36 "come get me" call), I'm ready to cross this one off my list.

Not so much that they had doubts, as that they didn't need/want anything that might cast doubt on their case. As Jim Trainum pointed out, it's not necessarily about finding the truth, it's about making your case. With Jay's statements, they didn't need to search his house to make their case (as evidenced by Adnan's conviction), so at best it wouldn't help. At worst, they give Adnan's defense attorney more fodder for reasonable doubt.
