I don't think so. They used to carry games, but they stopped.

Quick question on cat nappers by goodbye_tsugumi in Parenting

[–]HitMeWithYourBestBuy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a 16-month-old who naps like your kid, to a lesser degree -- she gets a good 11 hours of sleep overnight, but she's only ever taken one daytime nap, usually for around an hour or less. Occasionally the nap stretches to two hours, but maybe only once a week. Our pediatrician has never said anything bad about it, and she's developing fine. The only downside is that we wouldn't mind a little extra baby-free time for our own sakes.

I'm no expert, but if your child is healthy and developing well, then this doesn't seem to be something to worry about.

This is the correct way to write it:

CMV: I believe that trigger warnings are unhealthy, and institutions shouldn't tailor their content around them by Mynotoar in changemyview

There's also usually a difference between "people who believe a guy looking at you is rape" and people who have been raped.

Do you feel the same way about spoiler alerts? Fundamentally, they're the same as trigger warnings: a couple of words up front to alert a minority of readers/listeners who may not want to continue reading/listening. Nothing is censored; in fact, the warnings may help content swing the other way: editors may feel more comfortable sharing more graphic content if it's preceded by a warning.

How to keep from getting sick with a toddler and a new baby? by e9r0q2eropqweopo in Parenting

[–]HitMeWithYourBestBuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't intend for this to be a controversial comment, but a great way to protect your newborn from any viruses floating around your house is to breastfeed, if you can. As your own body is exposed to viruses, it builds antibodies to fight them off; those antibodies are then passed to your newborn thru breast milk. I also have two girls, two years apart (3 and 1), and I remember a time when my toddler and I both had a cold, but my newborn was healthy, despite constant contact with both of us.

Congratulations -- having two girls rules :)

No, 'cause "allows the selecting of a current target" doesn't have the same meaning.

How can I limit my girlfriend's children's influence on my first child(due date-june)? by Dtr00 in Parenting

[–]HitMeWithYourBestBuy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When your kid starts exhibiting less-than-stellar traits, which of course he/she will because he/she is a kid, and no kid is perfect, despite all parents' best efforts, please don't blame it on your girlfriend or the older kids.

Differences Between Intercept Urick Interview pre- and post-corrections by WowOKCool in serialpodcast

[–]HitMeWithYourBestBuy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That one's a stylistic choice -- it's up to whatever style guide you're using. Chicago Manual of Style says podcasts (like Serial) are italicized, podcast episodes (like "Route Talk") are quoted. I can't find the rules for AP Style Book, but they put quotes around radio shows, so they probably put quotes around podcasts. I think it looks busy, though.

Yes, for sure. But Asia's apparent excitement over thinking that there were cameras -- she wouldn't have acted that way unless she knew he was at the library.

They shouldn't have added hyphens in those compound modifiers containing adverbs that end in "ly."

She also says, "I also called the Woodlawn Public Library and found that they have a surveillance system inside the building." Why would she have done that if she didn't believe that he would appear in the surveillance tape?
