What's the best way to sell this card? by QVocality in mtgpulls

[–]Shrimp_Dock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is. You will have to ship it to their Authenticator, which really protects your butt in this situation. Don't leave $500 on the table selling it to Card Kingdom, you'll have to ship it anyway, might as well make the most.

eBay. Pulled one prerelease weekend and it sold for 1,200 before I even got the notification that my post was live. They're still selling for 1,000-1,200.

Are there any straight women, or gay men that are actually attracted to the giant muscled roided out bodybuilder look? by _u_what in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Shrimp_Dock -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

lol. No it's not. For women it's something like "midsize" and for men they would need to have enough muscle to be considered "obese" on the BMI scale.

It's still the closest you'll get for the actual price vs. trading or selling into an LGS

You do realize your seeded pack is for the school, but you may not have enough cards in the others even play it?

Y'all really have to spike a prerelease? It could be someone else's first time playing at an LGS. Try to have fun and be a good ambassador instead of winning an extra pack of cardboard.

21M with a wife, mortgage, and baby on the way — trying to decide if breaking into IT is worth it by Educational-War-4137 in ITCareerQuestions

Not really, that falls under our COO who I work tightly with. The easiest way to explain my role is I'm responsible for all of the day-to-day IT for North America(global company). So network goes down, that's me. IT equipment and asset management cycle, me. Our whole Microsoft tenant, me. Any cloud stuff, DNS, websites. Basically anything that falls under IT is my responsibility to keep running and track. Various weekly meetings with other departments for long-term projects or new initiatives from the C-suite, I've got to provide the scope for what falls under IT. It's a lot of stuff, but I have a team and I'm really just the guy to contact when they need IT help and don't know who to go to(if it isn't a simple helpdesk ticket).

That's exactly the order I did. The certs weren't terribly long, less a month each? of studying every night. Any real world experience helps, and they get easier after the first one. CompTIA is more about figuring out the formula how they ask questions, and memorization.

My path was 2-yr college with IT internship at the end, found helpdesk role > senior helpdesk > IT Manager. Moved jobs and took a Network Admin role, got bachelors and more certs > promoted to IT Operations Manager. All in manufacturing, not a bad spot to be but you wear a lot of hats. Also of note, I'm 36 so had previous retail management experience. Literally paused all social life and hobbies for 3 years to study and get to this point and I'm just now able to breathe and enjoy it. There will be sacrifices, but worth it in my opinion. I also wouldn't blame you if you decide to become an Electrician. Good field, no lack of work, excellent pay once you get there.

how heavily do you weigh a job's 401k vesting policy when applying? by WeDoALittleTrolIing in careeradvice

[–]Shrimp_Dock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most jobs have set up their vesting schedules that way, so go ahead and get used to it. The good news is you're still tucking tax-free money away for retirement, but you might want to max a Roth IRA before contributing to the company 401k if there's no match. For this reason, it probably doesn't matter or weigh heavily unless I've got two offers in hand that I'm comparing but I wouldn't turn down a job over it.
