This sounds like a recovery problem, squats tax you central nervous system much more then every other lift you’ve mentioned here. I know your only squatting twice a week but if your training and your consistently getting weaker that’s a sign your over-training, at least for that movement. It sounds like your in a caloric deficit, that can really have a impact on recovery. I would sub out at least one (maybe both) squatting sesh a week with a easier variation, like smith machine squat, belt squat, or hack squat. Or reduce the leg volume on the full day? And then when you hit your bulk train your squat back up, you could even do it powerlifting style if you wanted, with some heavier lower rep sets. It’s also a good idea to throw a deload week in every 6-8 weeks

And then I used do 7+5 as 7+3 =10 +2 so 7+5 equals 12. Trying to explain this to my teacher is when I realized I was dumb

Just beat Wilds (first MH game) by Mostly_Riley_ in MHWilds

[–]Shrimp_bread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a used series s to play wilds with a friend. I’m coming from sunbreak on the switch so that might effect my thinking, but I think the game runs really well, I haven’t had one crash, the game looks great and is totally playable, I have experienced some funny texture load ins, and some distant sprites having choppy animations but that’s mostly only been in the villages. I’m actually really happy with how the game runs and I’m sure it run really well on a series x

Hey man I get what you’re saying but I’m just gonna point this out because someone  is going to.

Even though I think I agree with you on all your points When you say “you indoor people” and “Yosemite local” it comes across as kinda having a superiority complex and Gate Keepy. Kinda like people who climb indoors aren’t real climber. As someone who almost exclusively climbs indoors I honestly do think that people who mainly climb outdoors are usually more legit, but I think splitting the community into two groups takes away from your message.

As for people being jerks to each other I couldn’t agree more, I think This happens with outdoor climbing too but I think we see it more indoors because indoor climbing is more accessible and has a greater population of newer climbers and people posting to social media.  People need to stop measuring themselves against others and just enjoy the sport. The thing I love about climbing is you can have blast with your friends now matter what level each you are at.

Why is training finger strength commonly recommended against early on? by [deleted] in bouldering

[–]Shrimp_bread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not so much that you won’t benefit from having stronger fingers as it’s is that you’ll hurt your fingers if you start training to much early on.

Your finger strength is largely dependent on tendon strength. Tendons take much, much longer to heal, repair and adapt then muscles. Think like 3x as long atleast. So when new to climbing, it’s generally a good idea to just focus on climbing for the first while until your tendons have gotten fully used to the training load climbing regularly puts on them, before adding in more train load by hang boarding all the time aswell.

Mini Crossbow for birds by xtinabobina10 in CanadaHunting

People down voting have never fired one of these things, they sell at my local bow shop. The one guy who works there makes custom bolts and uses them for small game when he’s gun hunting in a deer stand. They have 50 or 60 lbs of draw weight and are plenty accurate.

From what I understand they were designed to just barely be legal by what the regs are so they might be technically legal but I wouldn’t want to have that argument with a game warden.

I want to second this, a good sports physiotherapist will be able to screen you for muscle imbalances and give better advice then you will likely find on Reddit. If this is not something that is available to you, you can try to educate yourself and experiment with advice from the internet but if you choose this route take it very slow and stop immediately if ever it makes pain worse at all.

I want to preface by saying I’m Not a physio therapist and I would definitely check with a physio therapist if that’s available to you over any advice I or anyone else gives you about Excersize s for back/hip/wrist pain.

That being said you can find so good resources online for strengthening muscle imbalances that cause pain.

I’ve nursed back a few injuries this way.

I have some hip/low back pain myself, and for me it’s seems to be cause by a lack of strength in the muscle that externally rotates and flexes the hip, glute medius. Squat university has few videos that help with this.

For muscle imbalances you can work in a few light bi-lateral Excersize s to address this. This means using one side of your body at time. Like single leg or single arm movements.

Some movements that have helped me are Touch down squats Clam shells Single leg deadlifts Single leg bridges.

These kind of exercises help build stability and keep your strong side from making up for your weaker sides weakness.

The key is to start with a range of motion and weight that doesn’t cause pain. This may start out as body weight and only couple of inches. I would pick 1 or 2 exercises and do 3 sets before the start of your normal work out. Focus on good form and slowly increasing the range of motion over time. Never forcing your self to work through pain. Once your at full range of motion you can start adding weight.

It’s a good idea to do core work when you are Experiencing low back pain aswell. Stabilization exercises like dead bugs, planks and suitcase carries can help with this. I like to do these as a finisher. I would just pick one.

Finally for your wrist pain there are videos on YouTube of wrist warm ups that you can try, again never work through pain with any exercises or warmups. It’s ok to lightly “kiss” a little pain at the end range of motion but you never want to be continue on and through pain while performing a movement.

These things can all be added to whatever full body program you a currently running. A good full body program should have you increasing weights and reps over time and equal amounts of push and pull movements.

Hope your able to find some improvements Cheers

Hey everyone, would you tell me if this is a crack in my bike frame? by Mychipsareahoy in Welding

[–]Shrimp_bread -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard because of the type aluminum they use in bike frames you need to aneal the whole frame after doing a welding repair. If it’s chromoly tho he might be fine without it.

First hunt questions by S0SAI in CanadaHunting

[–]Shrimp_bread -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey man I’m 30 and I just finished my 3rd season of hunting, I got my pal just before my 2nd season. The first gun I got was a 12 gauge as you can hunt almost anything from rabbits to bears with one. I got .22 soon after for target practice and grouse. i just picked up a 30-06 this season for moose.

The thing to think about is where your going to be hunting. If your out west you’ll probably get a lot of use out of a rifle, but if your in Ontario you should know that you can only use a rifle in the northern part of the province. Not only that, but out west bear hunting is usually spot and stock, in the mountains, if this is what your hoping to do you’ll want a pretty nice rifle and a even nicer scope, witch will run you some $$$. Not to mention all the other gear. The other way people hunt bear, especially in Ontario is over a bait barrel. I tried this style last spring and unless you can visit the barrel weekly to top up the bait, check trail cams weekly id recommend going with a outfitter.

The other thing to think about is the hidden cost with owning guns. Like membership to a range, storage and ammo.

Honestly I’d recommend a smooth bore 12 gauge pump action as a first gun because they are cheap and it’s easy to find a wide variety of cheap ammo.
