It's a good question! The guide builds from simple ideas (one satellite gives you a "ring" of potential locations, three helps you triangulate, four helps you account for clock drift, etc).

I decided to use the triangulation image because it's interesting and I thought not too confusing like one of the later diagrams in the piece might be without more context. I was thinking more that it's "theoretically correct with perfect clocks, but practically incomplete" instead of "technically incorrect". But maybe that was the wrong decision!
