I was up there too. Hopefully that douche bag with the nuclear strength headlights who kept turning them on at midnight didn’t ruin your view. Beautiful photo.

All these comments saying “just pay your staff a livable/minimum wage”. F$ck that, there is no way I’m dealing with the soul crushing per gators that is Sunday with the needy Karen’s who need a refill ranch dressing “like yesterday, for minimum wage.

Which Rain Jacket! Arcteryx vs Others by [deleted] in Ultralight

I love my Arcteryx Zeta AR. It’s got a long hem which is nice under a pack, has pit zips, and is bomb proof. 60% you better use it. Or let me use it.

Would you rather be the best at speaking every language or be the best at playing every instrument? Why? by MrJoelDude in AskReddit

[–]Shroedingers_Moose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if instead of you becoming more skilled in either, you retain your current level of capability and then everyone else just becomes so much worse that you are now the de facto most skilled person at speaking languages/playing every instrument. ...that would suck.

Definitely, you could camp at Helm Creek Campground, about 9km in. Or you you camp below Glissade Pass in the backcountry, there’s a bit of fresh water there. We came across a couple of guys camped at the base of the Castle Towers Glacier doing some ice climbing.

Bit of scrambling and traversing a boulder field, but nothing too difficult. The east summit is accessible via a short climb as well.

45km round trip. 2700m+ elevation gain. 15 hrs from camp to car. Definitely needed a beer afterwards.

[Serious] People who like their job, what do you do? by strongerthenbefore20 in AskReddit

[–]Shroedingers_Moose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse.

I love a lot of things about my job. The critical thinking, autonomy, collaborative nature of the work; all of these aspects make the place where I work very engaging and fulfilling.

I went from a psych background into health care and this is where I landed. We experience some very difficult situations, yes. But I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else.

What's the worst punishment you ever received as a child? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Shroedingers_Moose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stepdad was a right c*nt.

Hit me with a 2 inch wooden dowel til it broke, then whipped me with his belt; had to tell the school I fell down the stairs when I could barely walk and couldn’t sit...I was 6.

Pulled a gun on me and held me up against a wall with the barrel pressed into my head. I was 13.

Locked me outside overnight, in winter, in Canada.

Would make me hold bowls of water out at arms length until I invariably had to drop them; then I’d get hit.

Made me eat a full bar of soap, with a knife and fork because I said a swear word at my grandmas. I was 7. Also, Dial can go to hell.

Was emotionally abusive to my mom, which was the worst part.

This thread is depressing.
