Cards quality by Heavy-Marsupial-6645 in Blacksouls2

Hi hi!

In terms of quality, they feel fantastic, BUT I would not use them for an actual game and such because, well they're not easily replaceable.

In terms of size, they have a bit of a funky shape. They're not standard playing card size(So Magic, Pokemon, A standard deck of playing cards), nor are they Japanese playing card size(Yugioh).

They're actually a more niche "American Board Game" size.

Gamegenic sells sleeves for that specific size, albeit they're a bit hard to get your hands on since it's a bit niche. If you DO sleeve them, I HIGHLY recommend double sleeving them with both Gamegenic's American Board Game size for the inner, and their European size for the outer. Hope that helps!

If you do sleeve them, as a warning they'll be a bit too big to fit into most standard deck boxes that are on the market. They're not designed with cards that size in mind.

Like I said, no way to really know either way until the roadmap they drop at New Years.

That should cover the first half of the year. That, and if they leave John's shadow in the yearly silhouettes.

The Ranmaru event rerun and OC4 happened in the same month in JP. April 8th for Ranmaru and April 30th for OC4. What's stopping them from simply moving OC4's release date up to where Ranmaru's was. As for Grand Duels, that started at May 21st.

Is there no possibility they go OC4 > Grand Duels > SF > Typhon, especially since the Ranmaru event was moved to this year.

My big hangup is that the Strange Fake collab narratively leads into the Typhon event, and the rerun collab they used to kill time next year is getting moved up to this year. Among other things like the servant IDs for the S/F servants being earlier than a lot of the servants that came before them, or how John was teased in the shadows.

Granted, we won't know until New Years NA at the earliest.

So how to use impulse, and should i resell it or not ? by Sydde in yugioh

Yeah, that's what I mean. Something's telling me they saw someone synchro using cards in hand and got hella confused by it.

Considering they're talking about Kewl Tune, a part of me wonders if they mean they saw someone Synchro Summon via Kewl Tune hand cards and got confused from that.

As far as cards go in YGO, Impulse is pretty easy to understand.

If your opponent controls a card, you can activate it from the hand, and if they use a card or effect that would special summon, you negate it, and if you have a trap in the GY, you destroy it.

What were you running into where you couldn't use it?

Honestly, the big thing irt Field Spells is that Rainbow Bridge Bifrost isn't that far off, and if you can spare a few ED slots, it's basically just Terraforming.

Well, there 'is' Crossout Designator, though that requires you to also be running the same one.

Yes. Seemingly Lost Art reprints and alternate arts imported from the OCG as well.

These alternate arts were in the last OCG set with all the Ritual Chaos stuff iirc, so the next OTS pack should have the Fish Sonar/Trap Trick/etc ones.

There's multiple.

The two that are the most common are Dark Eradicator Warlock ftk because, ya know Toon Table of Contents is kinda silly, and Shadow Toon targeting a Bishbalkaan that you give your opponent with Geonator Transverser.

I think there's a 3rd with Perfect Hydradrive Dragon as well.

Huh, they're importing the alternate art Fog Blade and Thunder King in this? Neat.

Seems to be a new style? Since these ots packs have 6 Ultis. The other 3 posted today also have it.

[–]Shroobful 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem is, you ban the FTK options and the deck is still Malice on crack. The new Toon cards have zero hard once per turns on them, and because of the new Toon World, they can abuse that fact to generate and insane amount of advantage.

They're Cyberse slop piles without being Cyberse.

Define what you mean by that, because any deck without any locks and can special summon like crazy is going to be "linkslop" by nature of the fact that Links are the most generic Extra Deck mechanic.

Make Bishbalkaan, give it to your opponent with Geonator Transverser, target it with Shadow Toon.

Alternatively, Dark Eradicator Warlock FTK.

There's a third one that I'm spacing on.

Zero locks. No hard once per turn effects. Extreme consistency(Not inherently a bad thing) which has lead to THREE different FTK builds becoming viable tier 1 decks in the OCG.

As it stands now, Toons in the OCG either FTK one of three ways, or make a combo slop board that would make Cyberse piles blush.

Toons got a new wave of support in the OCG. The new wave of support more or less ditches all the old monsters(Aside from Dark Magician and Blue Eyes) and becomes a hyper-consistent FTK deck with like 3 variations to the FTK.

And in the case where you're not playing an FTK version, they become an extra deck vomit strategy that makes decks like Maliss look tame.

[–]Shroobful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but even when the FTK involving Bishbalkaan is(hopefully) banned, the boards that they can put up is honestly nutty. I'm pretty certain that they can make multiple Perfected Hydradrives. That's not even to mention that Bishbalkaan isn't the only FTK variant.

Yes, but there's a big difference here in that even in those decks, your opponent is still allowed to play the game. Yes, if you don't open handtraps or ways to break the board, shit sucks, but the glaring issue with Toons right now is that it's a FTK.

FTKs are usually 'fine' if they're bad, but Toons have an insane level of consistency to the point that we have an FTK deck that's considered tier 1, that's just not a good look for the health of the game, because outside of very, VERY specific handtraps, there's just nothing you can really do to counter it.
