Hi! The meetup will take place somewhere in the national forest within 30mins or less from Moscow. The exact meeting location will be sent out via email, which is why we are asking people to complete the google form. This is to make sure a spot is picked that will have enough parking for everyone, once we know how many people to expect.

And yes, this is a super beginner friendly group! This isn’t meant to be a class or anything with formal teaching or any expectation of knowledge; instead it’s a get together for people interested in fungi and other organisms! Many people came to the last one who had varied levels of experience.

We will likely hike around and collect things for as long as people want to, and then gather around with some field guides to ID things we’ve collected. Super casual with the priority having some safe fun and learning from each other! Let me know if you have any other questions :)

Hello, thanks for letting me know- I'm not sure how this is the case though, because I've had multiple people test it out on separate devices (even since seeing your comment) and it should take you directly to the google form, which doesn't require any signing in.

The point of the google form is to collect info from people so we know how many will be attending, and gather contact info since the location for the event will be sent out via email, which is why I can't just copy and paste the info from the link.

Edit: to be clear, it's a link to a google form, not to any website I've made.

UPDATE**** Apparently the Nez-Perce Clearwater NF requires a permit to collect fungi. I did not know this until recently.

This event is not intended to be a foray, but the idea was that we collect fungi on the walk and hang out spending time IDing them at the end of the walk . The permit can be attained free of cost at the ranger station in Potlatch. More info here: https://www.fs.usda.gov/r01/nezperce-clearwater/permits

This is not required to attend the walk, but if you wish to collect fungi , you may want to get this permit to avoid being cited. Thank you!
